Magmortar Combos?

Well ive been reading quite a few cards and i really want to make the most out of magmortar i want to know what goes best/good with it (excluding firestarter we all know that already)

Garchomp L.X – Colorless – HP140
Level Up

Poke-Power: Dragon Pulse
This Power can be used once during your turn, when this card is played from your hand to Level Up a Pokemon. Flip 3 coins, for each heads place 1 damage counter on each of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon.

[.] Rebirth: Search your discard pile for 1 Pokemon card (excluding Pokemon L.X) and play it on your Bench as a Basic Pokemon. Then, search your discard pile for up to 3 Basic Energy cards and attach them to that Pokemon.

Weakness: Colorless (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 0

garchomp seems to be good specially when garchomp lvl x comes out it can instantly power up magmortar and prepare for magmortar lvl x

since dre is so popular nowadays i remembered using lanturn (PK Energy grounding) back when ludicargo was still good it could help to fight weakness and also discard dre for 80 damage.

If you don't want to go the Firestarter route, try Plusle (SW). It will get 2 Fire energy back to your hand to be placed on the next Magmortar to continually heal and power up your Pokemon. Buffer Piece and Potion can really make your Magmortar long lasting if they can't OHKO it.

Seconded. I had a fun little Mags test build with Plusle (keeps energy alive) & Minum (absol recovery) ... and I teched in Milotic d. It actually worked fairly well.

you want a good idea or something completely random?

Togekiss is dumb unless you're running some insane energy count in your deck.

Or you could just run 18 energy and some cards to thin your deck. Any Togekiss deck should run 18 energy, which is insane by no means.

Then again I don't actually know how this would work, just an idea.

Typhlosion is better. Togekiss is a stage 2 and so is Typhlosion. If you run 18 energy then on average Togekiss will only attach 3-4 energy. Typhlosion only does 1 a turn but can do it every turn.

If you want to use firestarter please go blaziken > typhlosien ... With magmortars damagse spreading its simply the stronger choice

Right now Blaziken is not better than Typlosion for a few reasons. 110 HP>100 HP, DP weakness is better than the old X2 weakness, while Typlosion doesn't spread it's attack is better overall with all the rainbow type energy around (DRE, Scramble, Multi), Typlosion has a Psychic delta species Cyndaquil (this helps if you use Corsola as a starter), Typlosions attack doesn't require you to discard eneregy.

If Blaziken is in the next set, then the old Blaziken might be a little easier to use (new DP rules basic and stage 1 will help), but I think Typlosion is still the better choice right now.

how bout a lightning to go hand in hand with magmortar&typlosion deck

i think that water will give this deck major headache

Typhlosion is the best play with Mortar, with Blaziken in second place, simply because of the constant energy attachment to fuel up multiple Magmortars. A decent combo, which probably comes in third would be Absol, but that's about as far as it goes.
