PL penalties could only be given by the HJ (Andrea) or the 2nd (Spurlock, I believe). Neither of those judges had relatives in your age group.
Did you ask for the HJ? Sounds like you made game play errors that caused the judges to fix your errors. Any penalty they handed down, you earned. No judge there is going to rule a strange way to "help" another player. Maybe your oppo just knew the rules better than you and spotted the errors and was correct in calling over a judge?
