for some reason i see alot of potentional in yoshi and pikachu for some appearant reason. i can think of 1 good combo for both character's if they can get the first strike to hit which is a pretty average chance. What chracters that are mostly overlooked has the most potentional.

Marril, Doc is practically Mario in another costume; there'll probably be something reminiscent of him in Brawl.

Oh, of course there will be. He'll be called Mario.

The reason I believe he'll be in rather than Sheik is because Doc is more of a classic character, and Nintendo has a tendency to keep those.

I'm just saying, they're saying no more clone characters, which means Doc will get the axe because, frankly, his differences from Mario are minimal.

Sheik, on the other hand; isn't a solid character in the Zelda series anymore. She was ONLY in Smash because she was related to Zelda, who doesn't even transform anymore.

Marth hasn't been a solid character in Fire Emblem since I think Fire Emblem 3... by that logic, should he get the axe in Brawl for whoever the latest lord is?

Doc tends to place higher in tournaments than Mario. Ironically it'd make more sense for them to drop Mario from the roster. LOL

More sense only from a tournament standpoint, not a design standpoint.

I quite enjoy how games are almost never played as designed... in this case, the most famous characters tend to be mid- or low-tier when the game's basic premise is something like, "Let's let Mario fight Link," not, "Let's let Fox fight Marth."

I never said that. >_> I'm just saying there should be something remeniscent of him in Brawl, whether it be trophies, a Mario costume, or Doc himself with a remade moveset.

Unless they change his moveset, I guess.

I haven't played FE in a few years, still have the original upon US release for the GBA. I remember having Lyn, Eliwood and Wallace (I think), Lyn should probably be in Brawl since she'd be an ideal character who is easy to come up with movesets for because of her body frame.

I doubt Nintendo intended the game to be played in the manner it is nowadays, by a tournament standpoint. Nintendo expected this game to be fun for fans of all ages, whether they play Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, etc.; it was meant to appeal to any Nintendo fan.

The tourney scene has turned into a community filled with people who wouldn't give 2 ****s about Captain Falcon, Fire Emblem, whatever. XD KillaOR's interview shows he only has one console game; SSBM.

I read somewhere that Marth/Roy were brothers; I don't play FE, I'm only basing my knowledge off of some article I read.

If any Lord should be in Brawl, my vote would go for Hector if we're talking strict FE7.

I haven't bothered playing any FEs after 8, and a lot of the Lords tend to be mounted, which precludes any inclusion.

And what they got was a group of elitists who don't care about anything except one specific paradigm, so long as everyone plays a certain way and doesn't ask questions, making it highly inaccessible to their intended audience anyway.

Swing and a miss, Nintendo, swing and a miss.

Yes, it's a sad fact that (of Bartle's player types), the Achievers and Killers who don't give two ****s and a **** about the fun aspects of the game will spend their time whoring the most powerful aspects of it, to the point that anything except the utmost in power is weak and not worthy to be played.

It's a fact of most games, just a pronounced one in Smash.

omg
Plz, Hax and Marril stop this fighting, its so damn pointless.
Marth and Roy are NOT brothers, but i doubt either will be dropped due to their immense popularity (or they will be swapped out w/ another FE character)

King, this is more of a discussion rather than an argument.

I think Hector is the 'Wallace' I was talking about; his moveset would probably consist of bowser-esque attacks. He isn't a fan favorite though, so I don't see him being put in.

I wouldn't say that's Nintendo's fault; and I actually like the way the game is played nowadays. A competitive fighting game (not many good ones anymore, IMO) appeals more to me than exclaiming my amazement at how I can fight Link with Mario. =P

When a game turns competitive, players tend to completely forget about the original intentions of the game, and try their best to win.

Hector was... pretty damn fast, all things considered. He was no Wendy (from FE6) for speed in heavy armour, he couldn't double-attack against Swordmasters or anything (Wendy could, and it was freaky to watch), but he was definitely a lot faster than Bowser. He'd probably be about the same speed as Mario or someone else of average speed.

So you're part of the reason why Smash has one of the most caustic, loathesome playerbases I've ever seen.

No big deal, I'm just mentioning.

When a game turns competitive, players tend to completely forget about the original intentions of the game, and try their best to win.

It's actually a principle in game design: "All players suck."

ALL games are like that Marril lol, if there's any competitive aspect then that happens, period.

You make it sound like it's a good thing. I acknowledge that the Achievers and Killers kill any light or "for fun" aspects of games as much as they can, but that doesn't mean I have to approve of that fact.

I've recently started playing the game. My buddy likes Roy and Shiek. I prefer Luigi. Does anybody know how to take down both master hands, I'm having trouble!

I can pinpoint the exact moment that SSB:M's community started going to ****, and that is the second [insert obnoxious friend here] picked up the controller and said "why are you playing as pikachu?! Pikachu sucks!". Although I'm sure if certain techniques didn't exist (...*cough*), the community wouldn't have ended up the way it did.

I said "one of" the most.

Every gaming community's level of causticness pales in comparison to Yu-Gi-Oh.

I'd say most maximum security prisons are friendlier places than YGO SJCs.

Agreed. Yu-Gi-Oh is a complete disaster nowadays. Except when I was playing in a Pokemon local league, there was a MTG tourney next to us, and as I was walking by, I saw at guy, must have been in his twenties at least, get up out of his chair and deck this little kid straight in the face. They literally dragged his *** out of the building and he was flailing like a mindless idiot. Magic gets pretty bad too... I hate it though so... doesn't concern me very much. Just kind of annoying at how unreasonable that action taken was by a guy in his twenties to at young child, over little cardboard collectibles. All the world is going to ****. :frown: Oh and King, you have to confirm soon if you can go with me to Rockford. We have one spot left in the car so let me know. Right now it's myself, Trevor, and Mandy (my gf). I'm teaching her to play Pokemon so she has something to do there. She'll be running Flygon by the way. Where have you been you lazy *******?! Trevor and I are going to kill you, you never come to POP anymore...:frown:

Hey Mewoxys do you know when your vids will be up? Yeah your right about YGO there are so many things going on in that TCG that I'm glad i just play pokemon.
