This is probably a deck that should go into archetype section as well, because it is very popular and very self-efficient. Before I go any farther, I shall describe what this deck is all about.

This deck uses Metagross d (Delta) and Dragonite d (Delta), combined with Magcargo, Holon Ruins, and several other utility cards to make the entire deck fast and efficient.

Pokemon (22):
4x Plusle (Deoxys)
2x Slugma (Collect)
2x Magcargo (Smooth Over)
3x Beldum (Call for Family)
2x Metang d (Delta Species)
3x Metagross d
3x Dratini d
2x Dragonair d
3x Dragonite d

Trainers (23):
3x Steven's Advice
1x Copycat
3x TV Reporter
3x Holon Ruins
1x Holon Research Tower
4x Celio's Network
4x Rare Candy
2x Rocket's Admin
1x Switch
1x Pokemon Retreiver

Energies (15):
9x Lightning
4x Metal
2x Double Rainbow Energy

This deck takes advantage of the discard mechanisms (Holon Ruins, TV Reporter) to put Lightning energies in the discard pile, then uses Dragonite d to put Lightning energies wherever is most appropriate. But it's also important to mention that Metagross d is the main primary attacker. Thus, it is imperative for you to get at 2 Metagross d out, so you can replace the Active one if it's Knocked Out.

Magcargo is a key Pokemon not only because it can search for whatever you need, but search for gyms when your opponent lays down Battle Frontier. Therefore, this deck may also need a 5th gym, depending on your metagame.

This is intended to be a rough draft, so don't bash me too hard. Nevertheless, suggestions and comments are always welcome.

Hm, nice deck, I planned to try something similar...

But you have 24 Pokemon cards instead of 22, that's too many...

I would play 1 oder 2 Holon Lass to get the energies quickly in early game, cause you need some on your hand if you want to discard them with TV Reporter etc.

actually you have 24 pokemon in the deck (you listed 22)

i'd drop 2 draw (7 is good anyway) to make a deck of 60 card.

i don't use plusle and i replaced them with a 4th beldum and a 3-3 line of magcargo +1 more L energy.

Plusle seems a good idea against power heavy deck.

u dont need plusle just play call for family beldum and make the magcargo either 3-3 or 2-3 with one cargo on either being uf so steelix doesnt completely own you

I have a Metanite like that but with different trainer cards, IMO drop one Pokemon Retriever and one DRE and then add 2 Protective orbs, 14 energy cards are enough because you can take some energies from the discard pile if you need them, 1 DRE in case you have to discard all the enegies in order to kill an opponent's pokemon and be able to attack next turn. IMO 2 Protective orbs are required there because of Crystal shard.

Good luck for your battles ^_^

nice deck, anyway, you might want to include 1 or 2 rocket's raikou as a tech:biggrin: ...however, i think that this deck will has a hard matchup with medicham since it locks all of your pokemon power...

Yep, that's true. The first time I played against it with Cham *against an exceptional player* I lost with a 1-0 prize count. Now that I've played against it, I know how to mop the floor with it, don't let them power up a metagross.

Well, as it has already been mentioned, this deck has two too many cards. Your Pokemon line looks very similar too mine, but I feel you could drop your Plusle count down to 3 and perhaps drop the CC.

Worst. Advice. Ever.
But, yeah, the Medicham match is a difficult one, but it's far more winnable, imo than say Rock-Lock.

I disagree completely. Pokemon Retriever is VERY nice to have. Dropping DREs is also a bad move imo. In fact, I'd suggest -2 Lightning +2 DRE. Protective Orb might be nice, but I'm not sure there is room for it, without sacrificing more draw.

I'm also not a fan of the Holon Stadiums. I don't find them useful enough in this deck.

I just submitted my MetaNite article so look foward to it in the near future, hopefully. :D

you don't need plusles and magcargo's IMO

3 Dragonite d

Energies > 15

4 metal
9 lightning
1 psychic
1 multi

Trainers > 26

4 Holon ruins

2 switch
1 mr.briney compassion
1 pokemon retriever

Hiya Wil,

I dunno if you'll like this build, but this trainer engine has worked well for me in the past. It won me 2 CC's in some of the hardest competition ( I played it in Blaze/Ray and managed to beat a Blastiose/Shard 2/3 games in the Finals of one of them ). As far as stadiums I only played 3 then so take that into account. And I agree with you. You possibly do need that 5th stadium.

Trainers (23):
3x Steven's Advice
2x Copycat
4x TV Reporter
3x Holon Ruins
4x Celio's Network
4x Rare Candy
2x Rocket's Admin
1x Pokemon Retreiver

Notice the added draw ? Well I found ( back then of course and still holds true ) that if you have more draw cards then you can get what you need just in case your searcher is not in play yet ( IE Metagross/Magcargo or Magcargo/Holon Ruins ) and speeds up getting him out. Anyways, just a thought.

Hmmm what about the major combo possiblities with both magcargo and getting the energy in the discard with Holon Ruins ? Isnt that worthy enough to run in this deck ? Imagine if the "Blaze of Old" had a stadium like that....can you say O-M-G !!!

I've found that Metagross DX could help this deck actully. I know it sounds noobish(please forgive me >.<) But it can retrieve Metal Back, so you wouldn't have to play Holon Research Tower IMO. Just a thought.
