What was the SP you lost against in top8??
 
Top 4 matches are:

SP (Dialga/Palkia no RR cards AND no Unown G) vs Machamp/Gengar

Rampardos vs SP (Dialga/Palkia no RR cards but yes Unown G)

Top 2 match is:

Machamp/Gengar vs SP

The Machamp/Gengar player does not have a VISA, so the SP player already has the trip won. Apparently trips do trickle down but invites do not. If only 1 invite trockles down I would get in.

I lost to the SP facing Machamp/Gengar. I left the place a long time ago so I'm guessing the final is under way.

Out of the Top 8 at Nationals, only 4 of us have VISA entry cards to go into the USA, but apparently invites do not pass down =/, which is lame as the 4 of us got paired against each other, so essentially Mexico only had 2 invites in the end :(. I'm going to email POP about this and see if the invites can trickle down, as it would seem like a waste and it would not be in the bets interest of the event's diversity as all 4 VISA-holding mexicans would go to participate at Worlds for sure.

Grinder is looking like a 50/50 today, but that's probably because I'm dissapointed I didn't even put up a fight for my Top 8 match. As the date looms closer I'll probably decide to go anyways.

coming home i hoped to find you AT LEAST in TOP 4..... (pheraps even better)...


I hope POP listen to the VISA problem and let invites go down..... if they did for their mistake last year at USA National, i can't see why they can't extend the rule for a good reason!

If not: Time to Grind!
Last year most of the PRO players grinded in!!!

See, this is a double-edge sword. If you do that, you HAVE to make it so that players who don't have a VISA also can't earn a Ratings Invite.

Well the Machamp/Gengar dude won in the final, and he doesn't have a VISA, so the trip got passed down to the SP player - Ivan Zaldivar. Now it wouldn't make any sense to pass down a TRIP to not let it go to waste but NOT pass down an invite wouldn't you agree? And I'm 5th in the standings, as I was the highest ranked player (5th) who lost in Top 8. I will be emailing POP about this tomorrow.
 
Wait, does that mean that the invite could pass down to 5th place if one of the other players doesn't have a visa?
 
It could Matt, so I'm going to email POP about it, as it would make no sense to pass down a trip but still let 1st place get the invite and let it go to waste.

To top it all off, the guy who won, only lost once in the whole tournament in Round 1. Guess who he lost to? Me :(.
