Hello, Sunday 4/22/07 my local store will be hosting a Modified tournament. We are not sure if it will be sanctioned or not. We are trying to get sanctioned status placed on the tournament, but it is not a guarentee. The prize support is pretty decent, the more players, the more prizes. If the tournament is not sanctioned, then their will be no age groups, (or unless their is a very high turnout) however, if possible, I will still have George pair the players within their groups as much as possible, if that is the crowds consensus. Date and time: Sunday, April 22nd, 2007. Tournament starts at 1, so try to arrive around ~12:30, so we can register, and get started on time. The store opens at 12, so it's probably not a good idea to show up much earlier then 12:15.

Prize Support:
Prizes will be split between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Store credit, to be used in the store that day, is based on total player attendance. For every player, 5$ will be added to the pool of prize support, so make sure you bring plenty of friends with you! The more people, the better. Now, I doubt this will be a problem, but if we have less then 4 people, there will be no tournament period. Never has been, and never will be, right? :thumb:
Format: Swiss-based rounds with Modified format using all up-to-date rulings.
Modified format includes:

EX Delta Species
EX Legend Maker
EX Holon Phantoms
EX Crystal Guardians
EX Dragon Frontiers
EX Power Keepers
Nintendo Black Star Promos labeled with the number 029 or higher

Cards from older sets that are reprinted may be played, however, some require reference (Metal Energy, Darkness Energy, and others). Examples are Potion and Pokemon Reversal. For a complete list, click this link.
No proxies (fake cards) will be allowed.
Alternate-language cards must have an English reference or CardDex printout referring to the card you are playing.
All other POP rules will be used.
Other activities:
I will raffle a few pokemon-related items or booster packs throughout the event. I will hand each player a ticket when they pay. I will try to get a few of the new DP and Mystery of the Lake deckboxes, as well as one of those tins with a preview card of one of the three new starting pokemon. I will try to get Chimchar, because everyone knows monkeys are the best. 'tch.
Food:
There is a Long John Silvers, Wing Stop, a cuban place, the Bonefish Grill, a dollar store, and some other places in the same plaza, without having to cross any streets. Also there is a Cold Stone Ice Cream Parlor for desserts!
