Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Midwest Regionals - Pastimes - Chicago, IL April 8, 2006

Also, Seena gave Jason his first loss in the top cuts this season (I believe).

jason didn't win every CC he went to. he lost to my brother at the sheboygan CC (cham vs. ludicargo) and pooka won the new berlin CC (no top cut)

Anthony-LBS I thought.

11-14 had Jeff V win it.. Undefeated.

Vince son won 10-.

I have to give props where they are due.
Jeff V is the best 11-14 player in the world. He has played in and won only 1 cities, 1 states, and 1 regionals. He is undefeated this season, other than a match that he conceeded to his twin brother.

Did you ask him how he won his last round of swiss on Saturday? His opponent conceded since they were both in.

I feel really bad 'cause third round while I was drawing they called time, I then put my card down and asked if I got to finish my turn. He said yes and I picked up my draw again but he said because I hadn't started I lost it, I would have won... Anyway I went 3/2 and got 13th dropping to spots with my win 5th round.

Allright!

99 people!

Winners were as follows:

Andrew K. 10- LBS

Jeff V. 11-14 Rok-lok

Seena G. 15+ MewEX/MannyEX

There were some great fabulous games, all the way through.

LBS beating a Dustox without Ditto or Lati* 2-0!

This was an elite event...elite players!

Major props to Pastimes for some great fun door prizes and games - name the cards from Japanese Packs.

Major props to Pastimes for Pizza for all!

Major props to Pastimes for having a computer person who kept the matches moving.

VERY MAJOR props to my entire judging staff...Scotty - you are so solid! Clay - keepin the piglets all happy! Derek - Surprise! I put you in 11-14....Ryan, and the rest...great support thanks!

This was a tale of two tourneys...seems that even a top 16 wasn't enough to have all of the great players make it in...some big boys left sitting on the side watching.

In the younger divisions...we had some new players take home trophies...for the first time! Congrats to Ben D. in 10- for 3rd place...and Mason H. in 11-14 for 3rd place!!

Other great players...just played great..

and for anyone looking for the report for the finals of 10-, James B. Vs. Andrew K.....

James conceded to Andrew.....James wants to play in both Indiana and St. Louis...Andrew is now a judge for St. Louis!

More to follow...very clean event.

I've got some nice pics that I'll try to get up later tonight or tomorrow.

Awesome event! I'll have to find out about that Japanese pack game Alan played, I was judging at the time. A couple of tough calls early on in the 11-14, but nothing that Vince and the rest of his judge staff couldn't take care of. Very tense match in the 15+ finals, but looked very good from where I was sitting. The 11-14 was very talkative all day, and the judges had to remind the kids to play the game and not talk to them while they were working, but they were all just having a good time! I finally got to meet Farbsman, even judge with him, great times all around. Hope you made it back home in one piece, Derek!

I'd love to do something like that again!

They went up out of order. That first pic ur talking about was supposed to go after the 3 11-14 pics.

PM: You're always welcome!

His opponent conceded because he didn't want to "reveal his deck strategy" which we alreayd knew was dustox ex and muk ex, which in theory would have a terrible matchup with rocklock. They never ended up actually playing eachother because the Dustox deck lost in the finals before jeffrey could face him.

Oh and thanks to everyone to criticized me and said that Lunasol WASNT a legitimate deck.

Moss: Yeah, sry bout that. I haven't had much time with that camera. If I make it to GL this weekend, there should be more pics, and probably better ones to boot :D
