I really really dont want to use my master ball to catch Kyogre...I haven't played my Saphire in a while because i am stuck at the Kyogre impasse. Please help me out: how do u catch that guy without resorting to using up your MB? What were your strategies?

I start with a mighty, and then use magneton to paralyze/confuse him...help!

Weaken it to red with a :lightning pokemon, put it to sleep with a slakoth or somthing, not confuse/paralize, and catch it with a nest, timer,or ultra ball. Good luck! :)

On my Ruby version I used Shedinja againt Groudon. It would be even better again Kyogre since none of its moves can hit Sedinja. Just get it down to low HP and chuck Ultra balls.

Another good strategy is to get the RuSa catch'em all Pokemon, Breloom. Breed it with False Swipe, a Grass move and Spore. You simply absorb its Water Attacks when its actually awake, then Sleep it, take its HP to 1, and chunk balls at it, start wiht Ultra, then switch to Timer if the battle gets lengthy

*edit* Oh yeah, and the most imoprtant rule of all, right before you engage it in battle, save. This way you can reset and start here if it KOes you, you KO it, or you run out of balls.

I went into my Groudon battle using Breloom's Spore and Sky Uppercut attacks to get it down to a low HP, then just kept healing and using Spore until the battle went on long enough for me to throw up 3-5 Timers and catch the bugger on my 10th try...

against kyogre I used manectric then put him to sleep. Then use net ,ultra, and timer balls to catch him.make sure he's in the red zone or else it's almost impossible to catch him.

put them to sleep. i used a pelipper for my groudon, surfing once, so it wouldn't die, switch to a sleeper, then chuck balls. for kyogre, who is easier, really, use a shedinja, to whittle away health, and chunk balls. if not, go with a breloom, or another grass pokemon.

a general rule for the game: play the resistances / weakness game. sometimes, that is what it is all about.

Yes, Kyogre learns Ice Beam, but Bug is not weak to Ice. Now, I don't remember what level Kyogre is at when you encounter it, but if it still knows Ancientpower when you find it, then you have a problem. That's the only attack Kyogre learns naturally that can hit Shedinja.

Lvl 45 Kyogre
Body Slam
Calm Mind
Ice Beam
Hydro Pump

nope, no Shedinja kiling moves there.... I just caught mine the other day (several times), but I used the Master Ball, til I got a Modest one.... plan on maxing its Sp At and wailing on Colesuem with it (on the levels it is allowed obviously)

can someone give me--hopefilly someone remembers--an exact read out of what they did. Levels, moves, types, etc?

I really really would like to continue my game! Especially since my mom preordered Colleseum for my birthday...

Would it help you guys help me if i posted my team and stats?

And by the way...I've been in this since Blue Version, friend, i know to save before facing a legendary...-_- ;

get a shedinja, attack it till it has low hp. throw ultra balls. for effiecient attack, swords dance three times, then use your attacks like slash or fury cutter.

Train a Swellow to a level 30 something and it learns endeavor. Find a way to poison it, then use antidote or something when it has 1HP. DO NOT HEAL HP!!!!!! So, anyway, go to Kyogre and use endeavor on it. Then use all the balls possible, besides masterball. Keep using balls until you cath him (rarely a her). P.S. Swellow needs to be faster than Kyogre and by 99 ultra balls.

LOL! Wait...are you serious?!! Come on let me in on what someone actually did to catch one. Nintendo Power has a strat to catch Rayquaza...if anyone of you read that, could you pitch me some help like that? Thanks. I'll see what i can do this weekend. I'll let you know if i got him or not.
