Hi, does anyone know how will "modified" change?. Now we a re playing DP on. Will it be like Platinum on after rotation or is there any chance they won't rotate some DP sets? I just would like to know if I will invest some money in some DP sets if it is just for 11 month or longer. My son has started to play pokemon this year, so I would like to know how expensive it will be ;-)

No one can know for sure, but the majority believe that it will be Platinum on.

Aside from Staples from the DP-on sets - try to keep to Platinum-on booster packets.
 
We won't find out officially for months. I think they announce it before Worlds.

If I was going to guess, I would say Platinum - on, but guessing tends to make people look stupid (like all those people who INSISTED that we would lose GE this year).
 
For your situation I would assume it's going to be Platinum on.

Also, since you mentioned spending money and such -- A lot of the valuable cards from the Diamond and Pearl sets (and even some from Platinum too) are going to be released as participation prizes for Pokemon Leagues. There is probably one in your area, and not only would it help you and your son to gain friends within the community and get to play against a larger scope of opponents (you had mentioned that your son just recently started to play), but you could also gain these cards just for playing. If you're not already involved in a league, you can search on a state-wide basis (I believe that's the easiest way) on www.Go-Pokemon.com

Thank your for fast replies. I will concentrate more on Platinum on decks: PL, RR, OP9 and SV. Are also DP Promos (NDP considered as DP - so there is a chance thay will be rotated?

The promos will be cut off at one point - my guess is that DP01 up to DP34 will be cut off IF it will be Platinum on simply because these promos were tied to the DP-SF sets one way or another. DP35 was a Platinum Blister Pack Promo, so the promos after that are likely safe.
 
Geez, really? Do we really really need this topic? I mean seriously? We are only a little over a month into the season and we need to worry about what will be legal in 11 months? I think this should be locked, when POP decides what the format will be you will find out. I would expect that we will hear about it before Nationals, but after Regionals. For now anything is speculation and just not needed IMO.

^ I would give the guy a break because he wants to know what to purchase over the next 11 months, BUT I agree wholeheartedly that this topic should be off limits until at least July.
