I have a deck that looks Modified to me.
But PTCGO is telling me that it's not modified!

Is it possible that if I have HGSS energy or other reprinted cards, that it won't let me play in modified?
 
I'm not getting any error about not being legal, but I just hang at searching for players... Frustrating.
 
Why the heck wouldn't Dragon Vault or the Trainer Kit be legal?
You can play the cards in the real game in a tournament.

Nobody is saying they aren't. The only thing that's being stated is that TCGO currently does not have them marked as modified.
 
I was able to fix a supposedly non-modified deck by simply removing all the basic energy and replacing them with the free basic energy that everybody can use an infinite amount of.
 
We thought we'd caught all of these issues, but it looks like there may be a few pre-BW cards that are still causing issues with Modified matchmaking. Until we can deploy a fix, we recommend replacing pre-BW cards in your Modified decks with their BW-on counterparts.
 
It seems a lot of cards in the BW on format are not useable in Modified. One I saw so far was energy switch.
