Should there be more Dragonball Z episodes? I think there should be more. I have all of the Dragonball Z movies from when Goku was killed by Cell. But I'm missing one movie it is the movie when Goku turns SS3. Other than that I have the rest. I want to see more Dragonball Z episodes. LMK wut you think.

I think DBZ shoulda ended with the Frieza saga. But, I'm pretty sure the american version skipped over the first several of the series. Unless those have been released on DVD now. I remember on one of the DBZ DVDs my brother got there was a missing episode featuring Gohan pre-Vegeta invasion.

They remade all of those episodes over the last 2 years, DBZ Uncut. Basically went from about a year before Vageta arrived until the end of the Buu saga.

Yeah, but now they are airing the old old dub episodes on Cartoon Network, not the uncut ones. Kinda goes against what they were doing. ;)

If anything, Dragonball Z needs about a thousand less episodes. They drag the series to death with nothing but screaming and "powering up" and nonsense like that. It's pathetic, they could have had a half-decent fighting animé if it wasn't for that.

I am not 100% Sure but I think the Frieza Saga had a few more eps than aired... If i am correct, there is about 270 - 280 English Eps but there are 291 JPN eps...

Not sure how important that is but i dont think there are a lot of eps, I mean seriously Pokemon Has More...

Plus this series was originally aired in the 1980s... So I dont know if that is a big deal but it seem to be popular for long after that...

100 episodes is a lot for an animated series. Pokemon just happens to be the second longest running animated series (1st is the Simpsons I think) so it's not fair to judge others by the high end. :x Most anime hit the 13-26-52 episode range. Not many go over 200 (DBZ, One Piece, Naruto will eventually, and some others I'm sure) so it does say something about the popularity of the series. Breaking 300 is amazing (One Piece is nearing this mark, and a few others I dunno), and 400 is just an aburd amount (Pokemon and Detective Conan)

IMO, there shoulod be one last season of DBZ, but I doubt it will happen. I heard there's going to be a movie in theaters soon. I can't wait for that. I presonally have nothing against the show (Except for GT).

The 200 ep list is, as I remember it...

DB/Z/GT
Pokemon
YGO (I think, don't quote me)
Inuyasha
YuYuHakisho
One Piece
Sailor Moon

A couple that probably will go over 200 are...

Bleach
Naruto

Let's not forget the animes that managed to break the 2k mark, I believe, like Doraemon. And it dosen't even have the highest number of episodes for an anime. :/ Although it is second or third, if I remember correctly...

Doraemon is one of the longest running TV series in Japan, while Sazae-san has been running longer, there are more episodes of Doraemon. While the original 1973 series was not very well received and fizzled after only 27 episodes, the 1979 series still runs today, with more than 3000 episodes (total) to date.
Now THAT is absurd. Especially considering how awful the show looks. :x I had no idea the 1k mark had even been broken. <_<;

6th: Pocket Monsters (now in its "Advanced Generation" incarnation) (1997)

Did a google search to find that. :D[/EDIT]

Case Closed is a Good show too. Is there any more episodes. I mean the last i saw was when it turned back to a kid for a while
Case Closed=Detective Conan it's still ongoing in Japan I believe and is right up there with Pocket Monsters. Though I'm not sure why it wasn't on the list I found before.

[EDIT]
Detective Conan should tie for 5th as it was released in 1996.
[/EDIT]

 Detective Conan is still running? Wonder why stupid CN isn't airing the eps anymore.

Looks like 4Kids likes to latch on to the long-running tv shows. Wonder why. :p

Because little kids will watch the same stuff over and over for years on end because it's hyped up by "kid-friendly" companies? See also Power Rangers, another import from Japan (albeit a conceptual one mainly as opposed to a dub) that's run for, basically, more than ten years easily. I forget exactly what year it debuted over here, but it makes Dragonball Z look short when you factor all of the different series in there.

PR is starting its 13th season.

DBZ? Short? Geez. It took them 15 episodes just to get through the first Vageta fight. I shudder to think how many episodes the series has in total, including movies...

The thing about DBZ is I'm afraid it overstayed its welcome. When I first saw the final episode, I didn't feel terribly sad to see it go or anything, since I felt like it was overdue for an exit. When a show loses its graceful exit, then it's safe to assume the show dried up too soon but stayed on stage too long.

I loved the manga though, since Akira Toriyama had only so many pages before each episode was over, he had to cut to the chase and leave all the excessive powering up and eye-bulging to the reader's imagination.
