Mossy is at issue with a ruling at Nationals

I can see both sides, as a player I might really have to go and could in between rounds. Maybe there was a big line? Maybe I didn't feel like going 20 minutes ago but I do now. As an opponent I can see where I would just want the game to get over with so that I can take a break earlier too and go do whatever I want to. Has anyone considered that someone might have a reasonable medical excuse for having to take a break that might be kind of embarassing to have to tell a judge? Just thinking up possible scenarios here.

Ok , I ahve watched this topic grow for long enough. It's time to say something.

Moss , the ruling for the scenario was correct. The first game had taken a while duo to some slow plays on the both of us. After game 1 was completed he asked for a bathroom break. I said I did not care as long as a time extension was issued. The judge said that no time extension was to be issued and allowed seena to go. I did not agree at all due to with no time extension it was OBV. being used as a time killer. SO I started " raising some hell" I called BDS / Mike l. over who ruled on my behalf. All I asked for was a time extension Because IMO it was a stalling tactic. It was the judges fault for not issueing a time extension. So was I upset that he wanted to use the "Can"? Nope. Was I upset that he didn't want a time extension? Hell yea.

So Moss , before you talk , make sure you understand the WHOLE scenario. Is it possible to hold the restroom for a simple Hour? Of course it is .

Alex , that is not what it is. The fact of the matter is , there are 5 people who know what actually happend.Like I said , I didn't have a problem with him going to teh Resrtroom. It was that he nor the judge wanted a Time extension. If it was so much of a bgi deal , I'd have stalled him out. But it wasn't. I dont even know why this thread is here.People with medical conditions who need to use teh restroom is an entirely different scenario. But that was not the case here.

well i think people should be issued time extensions/or pause the clock because jim carey said it best in liar liar about what happens if you dont use the restroom when you need to...

i dont understand the big deal here a player says"i have to got to the bathroom"then the response should probably be"you will get an extension for however long you are gone."not"HOLD IT TURD"(major payne)

I'm kind of glad that the biggest judging controvery from Nationals was whether someone was allowed to go to the bathroom or not.

Then he had the judge's permission. No penalty should have been issued had time been called.

Well mr. Advisor when your dealing with a judge who gives a WRONG ruling the head judge gets called. And the head judge agrees with me. Unless you have a viable medical condition you do not leave the match. Plain and simple. Your response had no meaning. I even explained in my post about that...The penalty was correct. This thread does not even need to be here. Whether " Mossy" has an issue with it at all it is not his concern.Even though he seems to have an oppinion on everything like some people I know  ^^.

Actually Steve the rules are plain and simple.

22.5.2Determining the Outcome of an Unfinished Match

The following criteria are used to determine the outcome of a game that is unfinished when time is called:
1. If either player arrived to the match late or was away from the match, without a judge's permission, for any period of time during the round, that player loses the match. ...
I commend you on not stalling out your opponent as so many top players seem to have no problem with this type of play. But if your opponent had the judge's permission to be away then it would have been wrong to apply a penalty.

I'm not saying the rules are not there. The situation was a flipping mess. I'm sure had seena known that this was oging to be a penalty when he came back he would not have gone. But it didn't happen that way. So plain and simple , it didn't happen that way.I personally believe it was a stalling tactict and the judge made a wrong decision. Before seena left for the restroom I even advised maybe calling the HJ. But the judge was adament about not doing such. W/E it's over.
