Standard MSN. This list, plus or minus 1-2 cards from event to event got 2 top 8s and a win at states, a top 8 and a 2nd at regionals. I just thought ppl would like to have a look.

i draw prizes until i get an onix. Or, i dont play steelix that game, the deck has soo many other attackers that it can get by without steelix.

1 - All the fixes posted above might be ok for the current metagame but when this deck was played, his list was very effective. Bandoom was big at the cities/states so all fixes not made during that time or catering to that time period are null.

2 - If he was able to win with what he plays, then it's no use trying to suggest your playstyle upon him now. Most of the posted fixes don't add up imo.

3 - With no strategy posted/fix actually needed, this thread might be locked.

The energy looks very, very weak. I guess he was able to get away with it all this time due to the magnemite (an absolute critical-I'm glad it's not missing), but playing so few energy is basically relying on luck.

Other than THAT I think the list looks fine. There are a lot of playstyle choices, but that's cool. I disagree with Eternalfire though: it isn't a metagame, era, or playstyle-oriented thing to play only 8 energy (13 total with castform and mite) in a metagross/steelix list, but just what I feel to be a poor choice.

I agree that it may be lacking a bit in the energy department but he had the skill to make it work. I witnessed it first hand while I judged his finals match. He took a risk and had obtained some nice rewards. Then again what do I know? I played a warp energy in my States winning Blaze deck back in the day. :p

I knew perfectly well when i was playing this deck that the energy count was lower than most. But when i consistantly made top cut at every event i went to, i wast about to do too many changes. The energy weren't really a problem. The holon magnimite got searched t1, then i delta drew into what i needed.

Mods, please ban Lil_Magma.
