Legendary musketeers and a few others.

A few trainers and a pokemon

First of all, Evolite is just cruel. Zekrom and Reshiram are even more beast now, especially Zekrom. "Look at me! I can do 120 while doing only 20 to myself! AND I resist damage by 20! That's like a resistance to all types! >:D "

Yeah. The musketeers have nice high HP, they'll probably be pretty playable.

Oh, and Archeop's ability works as long as it's in play. Another big shot at evolution decks...:nonono:

Eviolite + Kyurem >.< GG

I can see Virizion being a reasonable starter. It has very high HP, and, if the retreat cost is low (1 or 0... maybe 2), it can be actually really good. Draw 2 for 1 works very well in this slow format... plus it doesn't reshuffle your hand (like Cleffa), so it isn't all that bad. Cobalion looks like a great counter to Kyurem (assuming it gets out early enough). Terrakion might see some play in Donphan-ish builds. I can't see it being too popular, though. Eelektrik will be great if its evo is great, but it still might see some play in Electric decks (Zekrom is starting to look pretty good right now). :)

Just when you thought Stage 1s might be playable . . . along comes Archeops and Eviolite.

Well, if we really are going back to WotC days then there has to be something in the set that can shut off abilities... Garbodor maybe?

Stage 2 decks laugh, though, because Rare Candy happily overrides. :< ReshiBoar laughs again.

Apparently it does, even though you are still evolving a Pokemon from the hand. Vileplume/Archeos! The only way to get around that will be that Levanny that has Phione MD style attack, though it being a stage 2.. yeah.

I wouldn't mind Archeops as much if Jirachi UL wasn't int he format. The two together make it so you can never safely get evolved Pokemon in play, and with all the crazy basic Pokemon and basic support they get, it's gonna be a wreck of Dragon trio, Muskateer trio with tech Bouffalant and Evolite. And we still haven't seen the Pokemon-ex =/

I don't see Aerodactyl 2.0 being that much of a threat for 2 reasons: 1) we don't know what else is in the set. Eviolite is a counter to it, helping stage 1 pokemon. 2) Pokemon Catcher can make it active (unless they have a vileplume or gothitelle out) so you can attack it.

Without Pokemon Catcher, yes, that ability may be overpowered.

Can you believe Pokemon Catcher may actually help the game out?!

Eviolite only works on basics. Enter the tanking Reshiram and Zekrom. This card will make Z/P/S and Reshiboar/Reshiphlosion Tier 1. Everything else, I think, will end up being Tier 2. Sorry, MagneBoar.

Wait, will the Japanese be playing this at worlds? I want to know if I'll have a shot with Cinccino. But after worlds, Hello new Luxchomp, Reigns supreme Z/P/S and Reshiboar! Why would TPCi do this? Hopefully they wont be printed in the states, or everyone will be playing those decks. :nonono: BTW, whats Kyurem?

I don't understand why PCL is trying to kill this game on purpose. First Catcher, then EvioLite, now we only need something like SnowPoint Temple^3 and we have a great game.

I-just-don't-get-it.

Don't forget they are releasing Rugged Helmet (rocky helmet?) as a tool.

Ten bucks says that when they damage you they get 2 damage counters. My friend said he had read it on a chinese site.

Archeops will have a pretty big impact, but the rest really won't. Eviolite and good rod will have a small impact, but just as far as these scans go, outside of those listed, I don't forsee much change.

TBH, a good power-lock card would be gamebreaking right now, as most decks rely on powers. We do have Grumpig, but if 20 damage wasn't good last format when we had expert belt, it's terrible now.:nonono:

So what was the point of the above post?

Anyway, i don' think archeops will be too played. Its kinda tought to get that and vileplume up without a draw card (magnezone). Also you have to set up vileplume first and that makes rare candy useless when setting up archeops, which seems to be a stage 2 kind of deal.

Cobalion + Special Metal + Evolite will be a crazy tank, particularly with the likes of Kyuurem and Beartic running around. Plus, Iron Break screws up Catcher by forcing a retreat before they can attack whatever they Catchered in.

This format is really kind to Bulky Basics, isn't it? Between the dragons and these three, six different types have them.

If the translation is accurate then yes. It says it reduces all damage, so Bolt Strike damage would be included.
