Alright, I'm trying my hand at VirGen. Please be brutally honest as I'm not as familiar with the many different builds this deck can have:

Pokemon(10):
3x Genesect Ex
2x Virizion Ex
2x Drifblim (PB35)
2x Drifloon (PB34)
1x Bouffalant (DR110)

Supporters(14):
3x Juniper
3x N
3x Skyla
3x Colress
2x Shadow Triad

Items(23):
3x Colress Machine
2x Plasma Badge
3x Ultra Ball
2x Pokemon Catcher
2x Tool Scrapper
2x Silver Bangle
2x Energy Retrieval
2x Bicycle
2x Switch
3x Hypnotoxic Laser

Ace Spec(1):
1x G-Booster

Stadium(2):
2x Virbank City Gym

Energy(10):
6x Grass Energy
4x Plasma Energy

Strategy:
My strategy is pretty basic. I'm using Virizion to lay down some early pressure but also using it as an energy acceleration to set up Genesect with the two necessary grass energy.

Bouffalant is for a secondary attacker, he's pretty strong against Ex's, and with bangle attached, he's doing a solid 150. Pair that with hynotoxic laser and virbank, he's dealing ohko's.

Drifblim is my secondary attacker when I'm up against plasma. He can practically attack for free if the opponent is set up correctly. Add bangle for Ex's and add the laser name and he's dealing big damage as we'll.

G-booster is obviously added in for its massive 200 hit. Since you have to discard 2, I've added in a few entry retrievals to get the grasses back.

My supporter line is pretty standard for me. I like the 2 shadow triads to grab a late game plasma energy or to get a laser if need be.

I slimmed my catchers down to 2 because of Genesect's red signal ability. And chose ultra balls instead of plasma balls because gene is my only plasma poke.

The other items are standard.

3x Virizion is almost mandatory here. You need them. Also, you're pretty low on energies and you will need them, specially using G-Booster as your Ace Spec. I think 9 is a good number, although it's not the number I use (I feel very comfortable using 10). Also, with Virizion EX, G-Booster and Gene EX on the deck, I prefer Super Rod instead of Energy Retrieval, as you make the energies go back to your deck and you need them on the deck for full effectiveness.

I wouldn't use silver bangle here, as it's only effective against EX Pokemon. You can use the full HTL line (4 hypnotoxic and 2 or 3 virbank). Bouffalant is not a good option, because you don't use DCE. Consider using Mr. Mime: the next scenary will privilege bench protectors.

1 Shadow Triad works very well to me and my opponent almost always think that I have none on deck: this brings the surprise factor to the game. Your supporter line is pretty standard, but I would use something different: 4x Juniper, 4x N, 3 or 4 Skyla, 2 or 3 Colress (depends on the number of Skyla - I have 4 cause I use Tropical Beach), 1 Shadow Triad.

That's it. I'm pretty confident on my Vir Gen list for the regionals. Good luck!

4 Virizion is better for a consistent t1 emerald slash. I'm personally not a fan of the plasma energy version, I run ether/lunatone and it works much better and more consistent.
It helps you against other decks that run drifs as well as all the ehammers running around. I'm not sure if I want to unveil my entire list and techs, but after all my testing ether with a 16-18 energy count in the deck runs sooo well. Especially if you can get 2-3 early emerald slashes you are set for the rest of the game.

The Plasma energy are synergic with Genesect Ex, and with the nerf of pokemon catcher coming VERY soon, not running plasma energy on genesect decks doesn't seem too much logical to me. Drifblims are not a menace as long as you control the usage of plasma energy.

Ok, so if I remove the bangles, and the bouf, add in another bank and laser, and another virizion. and instead of the two energy retrievals, put in two super rods? I would love to put in a few more energys, more comfortable with at least 8, but what can I take out for the extras? I would need to cut at least 2 things, maybe 3-4.

To increase the speed of the deck try adding in one or two energy searches since missing that T1 energy drop can be crutial late game. Also I would run at least 10 grass energies since late game you will find yourself in a 'lack of energy' situation and thus will need to make sure you play enough energies to make sure that this does not happen. To also ensure that you will avoid this, play one or two super rods just to add to that energy recycle effect.

I would take out the Driftblim line since when I play this deck I find my self never using it and its kinda a dead card against blastoise/black kyurem which will be a highly played deck.
