My Barrie, Ontario Pre-City Championship Report

This weekend, Barrie, Onatrio held a Pre-CC tournament with the same prizes and format as a CC (minus the medal and extras). We had a good turnout (7JR/7SR/6MA). It was 3 rounds w/o a top cut.

I decided to try my Kingdra in the CC format. It wasn't a traditional Kingdra deck as I played many different Unowns and I also played Uxie Lv.X. I played in Masters...

R1. Me (Zach Lesage) vs. Marcel Lesage (My dad) with Machamp
We both got strong starts but, Kingdra T1 vs a Machamp T2 is in my favour. I got set-up very fast with multiple Uxies and started banking energy with my Regice and tricky Unown plays. I ended up knocking out his Machamps but, he brought up a Machamp Lv.X to OHKO my Kingdra right back. I didn't have enough energy in my discard pile to OHKO him right back so I sent up my Uxie Lv.X and Zen Bladed him for the OHKO. Great game dad!!!

R2. Me (Zach Lesage) vs. Dakota Gillanders with PLOX/Kiss
I got another awesome start with a T1 or T2 Kingdra as so did he. I got alot of KOs up on him (3 prizes to his 5) but, he used a Mesprit to PLOX me. I decided to live with it and go ahead and hit his Gardevoir. After 4 turns of being PLOXed, I KOed both of his Gardevoirs and he had no more Mesprits to play down so I got ready for my finishing move. All game, I have been saving an Uxie Lv.X so I put that up active and KOed his Gallade that had 20 on it from my Dragon Pump and I played 2 PlusPowers. Awesome game Dakota:thumb:

R3. Me (Zach Lesage) vs. Terry Koehler with Tyranitar Swarm
I was joking in the beginning of the match that it would be funny if I got a lone Regice start and well... I did:lol::lol: I banked energies on it and Terry decided to attack it. I paralyzed his Sableye but, before that, I discarded 2 energy and played an Uxie. I got a Horsea, Rare Candy... but, not a Kingdra. At least in that draw I got a Roseannes Research to get a Rare Candy Baltoy Claydol next turn:thumb: When I finally got past my horrible start of Regice I got 2-3 Kingdras out but, I misplayed. I attacked Terry without any energy:nonono: I didn't draw a prize card as he just presented a new Tyranitar out so it was reversible but, I felt very dumb. Next turn, I got enough energy in my discard pile to KO his Tyranitar in one-hit so I didn't feel so bad about my misplay. I ended out KOing one of his basics in the end for the game. So I am crowned the Barrie Pre-CC Champion and was awarded 18 packs.

Great report Zach! I would have beat your brother if I had the Pluspower, but I wasn't able to draw it. If only I left the Marley's request in the deck like I had before to get the last prize. Oh well, hope your brother does well during the City Championships!.

Winston: Jacob was saying that you used Mismag's attack to hit 5 TMs/Tools. You can only use 4. IDK but, thats what he said. Good luck at CCs yourself:thumb: Are you going to Missisauga? I am hoping to hold my ground from last year. BTW, did anyone talkt to you yet like Troy about something? If he did PM me and if he didn't PM me as I will tell you.

First off you didnt have to post your overall record.
Then you have PRE City Championships?

Its nothing special, it wasnt even a real CC.
I'm not trying to sound rude, but you say that you arent a braggart yet you do nothing to sound like you arent one.
Great to hear that you are undefeated on the season, and GJ at w.e kind of event this was.

I have no idea what you're talking about with the tools/TM thing. I know I cannot discard more than 4. Otherwise I wouldn't have need the PlusPower to win the game and I would've won. but whatever. I'm probably not going to Missisauga. No one talked to me about something. Can you pm me?
