A mod may tell you this later but this is where I'd have to chime in now.
While I know you may have been ripped off on other sites you don't need to worry about many of those on
this site. All of those I have traded with are reliable traders including many others that are listed on the da gym tribunal sticky.
It's very hard for me to send even same time with someone who suddenly signs up for the 'gym and has at least 3+ of many ex's that people would want. (Scams usually start out like this.) Sorry if I offended you by saying that but it is not common for new traders to be allowed to ask someone to send first or same time without enough refs of thier own.
A trading forum mod may help you settle your first trades between you and me if you wish, but as for me I'm sorry I can't go on unless you agree to sending first or asking a trade mod to help you in trading.

Help? What for? J/K. Ok, since this has come up, I have to agree. It is unfortunate, but you'll find that since you have fewer references, the other traders have a right to ask you to send first. Personally, I like to trade with these types of people who want to up their refs, just to see what they are all about, so I have a personal connection to tell people what they are like. Since I have well over 100 refs, though, again, I won't send first. If I need something specific, I may be convinced to send same time, but usually only if I need it. Just because I live in Canada doesn't mean I can't help with your trades though guys. It just means it may take a little longer, that's all. If you both decide to use me as a depot, I'll require that you both send same time - just because then I personally will know if there'll ever be a problem. Also, since we're talking cross border postage, I may require you to send an amount to repackage and resend a package on it's way to the opposite trader. Those are my stipulations, not the gym's. I'm not trying to make a bundle off anyone, but I don't think anyone would feel it's right that I pay for your transaction. If there is any dollar bill change from any amount paid for postage, I will send it back in the package to each trader. Coin will not be returned.

Welcome Windstone, glad you joined. The best way to avoid getting ripped off is by checking the refs of someone in "Da Gym's Rules and Good/Bad Trader List!!". If you don't see someone's list there, you can always ask about a trader on the "Check a Trader thread". If someone has many refs on the G/B trader list you should feel safe with sending to them first as they are proven good traders (EternalFire has a link from the first post to his traded with list, i can't find MadHatter's post (you did put one there right, MH????) but if you use the "Search this Thread" option you will see him mentioned 17 times (but it doesn't show his post). If you still do not feel safe, track your trade - i think it costs under $2 to track your letter so you know it arrived safely (this method has been used to identify rippers). For more you could require a signature.
As to Mod trades, i have thought about this but have not rejected nor approved of this idea. Both pokemonmike and P_A are reliable people, their only fault is that they live in Canada so it will cost more to deal with them. I live in the USA so dealing with me would be cheaper but as i said i don't know if i want to handle Mod trades as i am juggling many things right now.
