I met up with Dokromi and Kronar in columbus on thursday and we left on our long trip down. We got the hotel at about 7 p.m. and began playtesting and working on decks.
I knew I was playing gengar with my 3 unown g lock for the mirror but I wanted a tech. I decided later on that my tech was going to be NIDOKING RR!!! I decided to go with nidoking because of it's uber body and very handy attack. My gengar was decided to be based around shadow room and as you will see later it worked.
My list when on to be like this: (this is from memory so some cards may be missing.

After play testing it all appeared to work out very well as I continued to get set up very nice during testing.
Friday I signed up for the modified and played 4 rounds of it using my Mightytank which ended up going 2-2 but then I dropped to do a bunch of 8 man pick ups.
I mostly hung out all day friday until getting registered.
Saturday was the big day after the player meeting it was off to round one
Here it goes my first year in masters

Round 1: Adam G (Luxape)
I got a gengar out turn 1 BUT.... the bottom cards of my deck were (from the bottom) rosy rosy rosy bebe's drawer bebe's bebe's drawer drawer bebe's drawer... needless to say I lost.

Round 2: Natia ? (speedrill)
This is the match up I feared and also the reason I played nidoking. She got a decent set up but my turn 1 gengar was a horrid thing for her I got at her RR Bee with shadow room and got rid of it. By turn two I had nidoking out and started attaching. She had to attack and so she took plenty of damage from the King which later sniped her to death.

Lunch Break
Met up with Dokromi and we all walked to a pizza shop and had a nice wait so we had to eat on the way back.
I'm not completely sure the order in which the next three rounds happened but I'm confident that this was it.
Round 3: ???? (Mother Gengar)
I was waiting for a gengar mach up all day and here it was. My opponent was very nice and I had a great time playing him. Unfortunately for him my set up was quick and I started shadow rooming for prizes turn 2. He got his queen set up so I didn't attack unless I could take a prize which I could most of the time. I rolled tailz on both my fainting spells but I ended up shadow rooming for the last prize. It was a very good game.

Round 4: I know his username on gym is Cold Stone (gechamp)
We litteraly sat in a pitch-dark lock for 20 minutes. I finally broke the lock when I topped a broken time space and started shadow rooming. I shadow roomed his gengar and dusknoir in the late game avoiding a fainting spell. his machamp K.O.'d a gengar but I got heads of fainting spell. He was a really nice guy and I had a great time playing him.

Round 5: ??? Dusknoir SF(the body one) with nido queen
This was a very close game as he was able to get around all of my fainting spells and unown g'd his pokemon. it was rough but in the end my quick prize lead allowed me to be able to finish off the game.

Round 6: Peter O (luxape)
We both got decent starts and the game was very good but I horribly misplayed against his infernape x losing the game. It was very fun though I enjoyed it

Round 7: ???? (Speedrill)
after he got a 4 prize lead and I had taken none I conceded.

Round 8: ???? (I saw a manectric in there)
He mulliganed 5 times and ended up with only one basic I got the donk going second.

Because my opponents had all done so well I was almost certain I Was in the top and I was going to be very excited as this was my first nationals in Masters. I later found out that two of my opponents dropped screwing my percentage over.
I ended up getting 87th with a record of 5-3 (I have gone 5-3 three nationals in a row now.
