My take on T2 Tune

ok then, -1 shuckle, +1 Galactics, what do i take out for the 4th one?

and darth, if you've got nothing better to do than prattle on about that stupid card then get out of my thread.
 
I'm of the opinion that any kind of nonSupporter draw in a Kricketune deck is good. Because of this, I kinda prefer this list:

Pokemon:
4-4 Tune (ONLY)

Trainers (37):
4 Quick Ball
4 Great Ball
4 Dual Ball
4 Master Ball
4 Team Galactic's Bet (disruption FTW)
3 Castaway
2 Scott
4 (draw or search Supporter)
3 Cessation Crystal
1 Shard
1 Buffer Piece
3 (combination of Charm and PP)

Energy (15):
2 Holon GL
13 Grass

The energy is kinda modular. I love using some variation of a Ball engine in a pure speed deck like this one. It kinda loses a little bit of its potency due to the new rules, but getting up to 6 searches on your first turn is nothing short of amazing. Plus, you then hand-regenerate with either TGB or Steven's Advise or TVR or something like that and you continue the immense amount of draw. I was considering Pokedex Handy 910is, but I thought Master Ball was a better option for that spot. Thoughts?
 
I played a proxy tune deck. It wasnt as good as people keep saying. Infernape ran through it. Mario killed it, and empoleon beat it. 2 times i played it some tots were prized. 1 the 1st time and 2 the other time.
 
it doesn't matter if you mulligan 10 times if you galactic bet them down to 3.

have you thought about scott? search for a mentor, bet and celio...

Since this thread sort of died, Garchomp LvX has had a spolier released.

As Garchomp can place stage 1 pokés from the discard, you can have 4 kriketunes in play AND 2 kriketots - they don't need to be underneath.

I don't have faith in teh combo but does anyone think it plausible?
 
you should tech in a 1-1 latilock. Not only will have less chances of getting a mulligan but you can also do the latilock combo and lock bodies like garchomp,machamp PK, etc.

I mentioned a similar strategy on a different thread. It's the only way to go.
 
80 HP... This deck should be called T1-T3 Monkey Food. An Infernape with a DRE can one shot anything but the Shuckle. Whip out Delcatty ex to KO it, or attach some regular fire energy to Infernape. Having so many mulligans would really help the ape.
 
Having that many mulligans will help out any deck. I know you don't think Feraligatr is good. But for a minute pretend that someone figured out a way to make it work. It would take 2 prizes for every one that you took. The mulligans would really help it set up. I think that empoleon would also crush this deck. Actually anything that has enough HP that it doesn't get OHKO'd by cricketune and can OKHO cricketune would beat it. Yes the speed of this deck will hurt decks like that, but other decks will get set up very quickly because of all the extra cards you are giving them. And you will die if you 2 of the 'tots are in prizes.
 
I would use some sort of free retreating basic as filler, like a couple Latios EX, a Latias EX and a Latias dual aura. That way you won't get so many mulligans but you can still get T1 call for family, T2 kricketune for 80. Or alternatively if fire or water types would be more helpful in your matchup, you can fellow boost some energies onto your Latis.

Sorry I missed your post Skarmbliss, but well the problem with 1-1 Latilock is that if you start with Latias and Latios EX is prized, you're stuck with an extremely weak start and your T2-ing advantage goes right out the window. And a deck still gets plenty of mulligans at six basics. And Latias EX makes it actually cost effective to power up your Latis in situations when they would be useful.

dude, this deck outspeeds Ape and CC SHUTS DOWN CATTY! w/o catty ape is very inconsistant dude, or have you not played it before? as for Catty Ex, Plus Power FTW. and dude, Weakness to infernape really doesnt matter that much since the deck is all about OHKOs anyways. and HP-on infernape is much slower than the current build.

might try Skarmbliss's suggestions, MIGHT. i do like the Garchomp lvl X idea, making the max of Kricketune's attack 100 w/o any PP or strength charm, but if i start with Gible im screwed out of the T2 consistancy.

I don't see how you don't get rickrolled by Ape, so what CC shuts off delcatty? Theres this interesting trainer card called Windstorm that infernape decks play. Budew gets windstorm or candy to set up apes. I don't think you'll be able to recycle pokemon fast enough to beat ape.
