Hello fellow Pokegymers. In advance, let me thank you for this opportunity to vent. That is all this is, so if that is not of interest to you, please feel free to move along to the next topic.
Back at the beginning of May, I submitted a support ticket to resolve what I thought was a very simple issue related to my son’s involvement in Pokemon. I will not bore everyone with all the gory details, but in summary I have:
With all that, the issue is still unresolved.
The email you get when you submit a ticket says that Pokemon strives to respond to all inquiries within 48 hours. So it is quite surprising that an issue could go over four months without resolution, especially given all the communication that had taken place. All of my conversations through this have been very polite and respectful, except for the last one. So here is a free tip for everyone: If you ever have a support ticket languishing in the system, DO NOT submit another ticket asking that it be escalated to someone that cares. All that got me was a lightning quick scolding.
But it also made me realize my son was right from the very beginning. He told me that Pokemon would not fix this, but I said yes they will, TRUST ME. So, you must be wondering what the big issue is, one so complex that it cannot be resolved in four months.
He was in the top 100 in Play Points and should have gotten the fancy sleeves and the cross-hatched holo Catchers, but in error he was sent the base packet of blend energies and eviolites. Yep, this whole thing is about trying to get Pokemon to send my son the rewards he earned. If you have ever seen my son play, you know he likes his Japanese sleeves and his foil deck, so obviously he was very excited when he learned of these player rewards. But I guess he will have to be content with the 2 Golden Catchers he has and 2 reverse holo ones.
When my PTO friend told me who he had forwarded my plea for assistance to, I remarked that he reminded me of the scene in Pulp Fiction, where Jules says, “You sendin’ the Wolf? … That’s all you had to say.” Alas, this is not a movie and the Wolf never came.
My son has played just two seasons, and I played with him in the one we just finished. I have met so many nice people during this time. Thank you for your time, and I hope you never have an experience like this.
Gene Boe.

submitted 3 additional support tickets
sent numerous direct emails to Pokemon staff
had an in person conversation with Pokemon staff at Nats
asked a well-regarded PTO that I know for help and getting him to graciously assist with a higher level contact
followed up with that high level contact with an in person conversation at Worlds
With all that, the issue is still unresolved.

My son did not receive the correct Play Pokemon Rewards for the 2012 season.
