For low-tech players, a pen or pencil (for revising deck lists!).

-A small notebook (for writing notes to add to your blog).

-Sunglasses (for dining outside the convention center).

-Rain poncho (I suggest the style made of thin plastic like a garbage sack; not so expensive you're gonna sweat it falling out of your backpack.) BTW, it *does* rain in Columbus in June.

-Small bottle of hand sanitizer (Use it yourself after shaking hands, bathroom breaks. Offer to your opponent before a match. Judges appreciate the offer as well.)

-Some players need a comb. Not that I do, or don't, but there's NO excuse for walking around with bedhead when we wanna take pictures of yas!

-Ear plugs (Bunking with a snorer? Roomie watches tv late? Sleep will be precious this weekend.)
