Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

NEED gyarados counters FAST.

^^
they have 5 benched, you ditto, now they have 4 benched, you KO G-dos, they send up something, now they have 3 benched pokes, now they have room for a magicarp.

don't want to be a party pooper, but sorry this plan does not work.

You kill their gyrados, they hopefully don't have rescue energy on it so they can't get it back automatically, next turn you put down ditto so thier bench is full

I don't know what kind of gyarados players are in your area, but the ones over here in my area get another one back 99.9% of the time. But I guess you can always have wishful thinking... If they don't get a gyarados back, then you are already a prize ahead and your opponent basically loses.

I guess there could be a time when you trainer lock them, KO their dialga, take away the energy...But if you did all that, you really would not need ditto to back you up.

Gengar Prime + TM2 Devolutor.

Go for it!

This is the best option as far as I'm concerned.

Another option is to use Giratina's Broken Space Blow on a damaged Gyrados to get the Karp into the Lost Zone.

Decks that can counter it are many and varied: Magnezone, Dusknoir, Gengar, Torterra, Healix, Leafeon, and others can all be set up to directly counter Gyrados, but that doesn't mean they will fair well against the rest of the format.

Great Celebi?

What Gdos gonna do? Psychic Restore it to death?

Oh yeah, Flygon Tangrowth too obviously...

I run the devoulter with my Gengar Prime Deck also.....It is a great tech against gyrados. It has helped me put gyrados back in check.

Because you attach it before you lay down vileplume, it's pretty simple.

But that can often mean blowing the cover of your secret tech, Once the Gyarados players sees your TM-2 they be a lot less likely to leave a Gyarados with 3 damage counters. Also, once your pokemon with TM-2 is gone you can't get it back.

I actually run all Gengars. I run one expert belt and one devoultion machine. I usually Seeker my Vileplume and lay down my two trainers and then I lay down Vileplume. It helps because they are usually aniping Vileplume down and it heals him up plus add a surprise for my opponenet..

How does honckrow sv help?

Think about it. Active Gyarados, benched Sableye, Regice, and Uxie (Example.) Three Karps in the discard. You have two Honchkrow SV.

"Darkness Restore x2! Put two of your Magikarps on the Bench!"

......And instantly they're down to 30 damage, 50 belted. Now, they can Seeker/SSU the Karps and Regi Move them back in the discard, but depending on their build they can burn through those REALLY fast. Even assuming 4 Seeker & 4 SSU, with average odds that's only 6 times they can pick up off their Bench. They use them all on Karps, they can't use them on a wounded Gdos. What other options do they have? Just one. Pull up the Karps somehow, and fill their Bench with stuff they'd rather keep in reserve just to keep the Karps from being Restored to the Bench.

With one in the deck, you're going to need a lot of luck to draw into it before you play Vileplume down.

Seeker and Twins should allow the usage pretty well. Twins for Seeker and TM2 on one turn, then in the next turn pick up Vileplume with Seeker and play down TM2. Then B-TS Vileplume back.
