Amigo-Spiele, the distributor of Pokemon TCG in Germany and Austria announced their plans for the new Arena Cup series (special local series) for 2014/15.
What is known so far:
* Instead of being within one month or two like before, Arena Cups will be spread over the season
* They will give CP on Regionals level (and count towards that BFL)
* Prizes to be announced, but winner of each age group earns a 150 EUR travel award for Nationals Championship / following Arena Cups
* Tournament structure will be Swiss best-of-three with Tops
* Format will be Expanded (all rounds)!
* There will be online coverage for this tournament series (this might be interesting for US players as well, as the first Arena Cup will be prior to US Regionals)
* In parallel, there will also be a video game tournament also granting CP
The first Arena Cup will be taking place on September 27th, 2014 in Berlin.
