New BW cards revealed. Zekrom and Reshiram: Playable or not?

I have to say, that's quite a strong Pokemon there.

Why, you could have it all ready to kick butt in T2 and kick all sorts of butt!

But, then again, you know we never get broken cards to use here in the Americas. So, I say they'd be good but either won't be released here (or possibly as a promo), since Lost World appears to be in the same situation right now.
 
Wait, wait, wait. Both cards have extra text under the damage.

My Japanese isnt good, but I'm guessing by the symbols that Zekrom has a 40 damage recoil, and Reshiram has an energy discard.

Even so, 130 HP basics...wew...
 
Both cards have attack effects for their "big attacks", which aren't translated yet...so they probably have negative effects when used. From what it looks like, Zekrom does 40 damage to itself, and Reshiram discards fire energy...but I'm no translator.

Everything depends on the format they are released in. Calling them 'broken' now is meaningless.

If we got them right this minute I dunno if they would even be played. (Can't use DCE for the big attack, still a one shot for Champ, walled by Mewtwo X, Weaknesses easily teched for).

They look like they could be decent . . . can't say any more than that.
 
Well, certainly they're broken compared to basics we have no (SP not withstanding). Though there has to be a drawback to Reshi and Zero's attacks, no Pokemon usually besides Stage 2s will get a 120 damage attack without some sort of ill effect.

Yeah... the text is kinda blurry and hard to read, but we should get translations soon. I modified the thing so it makes sense.

Your kidding right 130 HP basics that can KO most anything for 3 energy and have build in 20+ rage attacks for only a double colorless... Theese are awesome cards and will most definatly be played when they come out.


I noticed that very few of the new pokemon have abilties (the new pokepowers and pokebodes) I guess they are fasing thoes out of the game. Its going to make everyone play boring haymakers decks I suppose.

Yea you bring Zefrom up and KO the active taking you to 40 damage, Then you get hit by your opponent for
60 more and you can rage him for 100 on your next turn and quite possibly annother KO. I like this one better then the other. You can allways play it with defender to reduece the damage you do to yourself.

Whoa, summed up my opinion perfectly.
 
Just wondering why an opponent would hit you for 60 and trigger that massive Rage attack? Even by PokeGym standards, that's a convenient bit of theorymon.

I mean, if Zekrom gets played, expect to see any of the many Fighting techs that can hit 50 for the OHKO after it self-damages.

And if Promocroak is still in the format when we get this . . . forget it.
 
why would we be concerned about these cards right now? they are pretty cool and stuff but, we have no real idea how things are going to interact with one another after the rule change and these things will probably be slower even still than most decks that will be out. unless some really crazy energy acceleration besides electrode comes out.

heh then again that might be decent with a twins combo..... lol gosh i got myself.
 
So we have some basic Pokémon with the power of Stage 2 cards, that's really brok... wait, don't we already have three sets full of them right now in format?

Wow, Zekrom and reshiram are GOOD. A flat 120 damage for :lightning::lightning::colorless:/:fire::fire::colorless:, NO STRINGS ATTACHED.:thumb: They also have terrific HP, they are basics, making them easy to get into play, and have nice outrage attacks too. If they come to America, they are going to be highly played cards, at least I think they will. Plus, they make Luxray LV X cry.

They say "No translation yet" which means there is something attached, good or bad. Also, 130 hp on a basic is MASSIVE, but the 3 energy attack stinks because no DCE abusablility means 3 turns of attaches. Rage is so bad I'm not discussing it.
