New POP ID Cards!

My TO showed these to me last weekend. They're really nice, and I'm pretty sure they're simpler to fill out, too.

Which leads to a random question, is it possible to get a new POP ID card? Not a new ID, it's just that my little card is kinda ragged. The new shiny one made me aware of this.

I doubt it, since the number is printed directly onto the card.

It would be cool if you could order one from your Pokemon Trainer Club account and have it mailed to your house like Player Rewards, though.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. Maybe using those points on the new site to get one.

That is awesome, now it doesn't look like a credit card application. I bet it will be 10 times easier to get a little kid to fill out, or even a lazy parent.

So great. The whole change to the website, along with this change, etc. are really helping improve the game imo. Great moves by POP.

Those are some sweet cards man, for the new players. Too bad we can't have those sweet awesome cards, but they do look much simpler and plenty of space to write your name (HINTHINT).

By ditching the old form, they fix two of the biggest deficiencies with the old system. One was simply getting people to actually fill the whole thing out. The credit card application joke is not that far off. It actually intimidated a couple parents around here. Obviously it got to a point where they were wasting more time reviewing the forms (and rejecting incomplete ones) than actually getting people registered. The other problem was just getting the forms. They'd have to be mailed in (usually by the TOs), and that was effort and expense to get them there and handle them once received -- assuming they ever got mailed at all.

By moving the entire registration process online, they eliminate the manual labor involved and make the process much more foolproof.

I for one welcome our new registration overlords.

So what do we do with our old POP ID's that we have? I have half a book. Just wondering. Do I have to order new POP ID's then?

Use the old POP ID's for any new over 13 year olds.

What's with the PIN number at the bottom? I can't read what it says. The older Registration cards didn't have that PIN number at the bottom.

I assume you need it to open a pokemon.com account with that ID number, that way some random person can't go register a whole block of numbers.

Those look nice. Too bad they don't give us an option for current players to print out our own cards ourselves (then laminate them). Haha, remember doing that for the original Lego online club years ago...

Suppose we can just scan a card ourselves, white out the POP ID, and put in our own...

Just for fun...
