New Regionals Prizes

Well, I would have liked the TCG prizing for JR/SR to match the masters, at least through 64th place. That said, BDS and I were discussing and he pointed out the prizing seems to be increased for everyone starting after T16. THAT is a good thing. My philosophy is that I'd like prizing to go deeper into placements, rather than higher in T4 - I think once you have 2 boxes, that seems good, and other things than packs are better. I'd rather take those extra boosters and spread them down the placements. I'd welcome feedback on that philosophy. Depending on what details of the new organizer requirements are revealed, I will try to make that happen for the players at my regional.

Now, you didn't link the VG prizes, but I'd like to see something different there than TCG packs - cloths, styli, battle mats, cases, something. That said, packs at least have monetary value, even if the VG player is not one of those who enjoys the trading cards.

What does "A Pokémon TCG Regional Championships 1st Place award" even mean? Like a special winner's packet or something? A free trip somewhere? Sounds weird, and likely the entire thing which the quality of the new prize scheme turns on.

The only bad part I see about prizes being awarded down to 128 in masters is the fact that handing out the prizes for those who does not advance isn't going to be fun after a long day.

128 players will get prizes, 96 (or 120 if attendance is less than 227) players will be done on Saturday night and are going to want their prizes. Its great for prizes to run deep, but I don't envy the task of passing out the prizes after a long day. I really think many players will have the mentality- "I lost, I'm out, I am going to bed. Will pick up my packs tomorrow"

VGC prize: you could look into portable USB charging devices. On the go, need to re-charge, plug in, good to go for a while longer. This would make an awesome prize as it is more focused on VG then TCG, since TCG does not run on batteries, lol -

Yep, a long day for those players, but getting the prizes at the end of it ... sweet. That's where our focus should be. It's a long day for the staff, and our reward regardless. I like ending it with many happy players.

IDK - I think you and I will find out at the same time.

Oh yah, been wanting to do that for a while. If I learn what I'm spending soon enough might do it for regional, but for sure for MSS.
