New Style of Foil Cards in Hidden Legends?

I don't think they CAN put holo versions of the cards in advertisements. What I think they do is that they get the card off the computer and put it onto their advertisments. Then when they print them out, it goes on to holo paper, which makes it holo.
 
yes. look at the poster that came with the EX collectors tin. on the back are several pictures of cards, including normal holos and ex holos. the pictures arent holo. the regice will, 99.9% likely be holo, therefore, as the only nonholo pokemon-ex so far in english are the promo 001 and 002, kyogre ex and groudon ex respectively. even they had holo forms.

i think that "new style" will be the regi-trio ex "stained glass effect", and just for them.
 
Okay the Regice Ex in front of me has one of 5 different Holo Treatments I have found so far in the Cards.. does anyone no what they are all meant for?

Normal Holo treatment for Holofoil Rares
Reverse Holo now replaced by Holofoil like treatment but with the energy Symbols in the background of the foil for Commons and Uncommons
Reverse Holo now replaced by Holofoil like treatment but with the energy Symbols in the background of the foil and a large energy symbol behind the attack text for Rares
EX pokemon have a normal Holofoil treatment and then a Holo card border
The Hidden Legends have a mix of Holo treatment that means the entire card is holo including the border. Looks more broken glass than stained glass to me :)

Confusing but very neat .. Has anyone found more than 5 holo treatments? I am keen to know ahead of the pre-release so that I can field the inevitable questions..

WOW :eek: That is a lot of different Holo Treatments. I didnt think the set had that many, that is pretty cool that it does have so many though.
 
I really like the new holo format (I like to call them alternate holos for short) It's nice and the cards are easier to read.
 
which cards will come as "energy holos"? the holos, the rares, the uncommons and the commons? #1-92? or will there be "energy-holo" ex'es as well?

As near as I can tell, everything but the EXes comes as an alternate/energy holo. Some look better than others (note to PUI-reduce the contrast).
 
They all have holo nrg in their picture, and if they're supposed to have to be holo they will also have the nrg of their type kinda of a stamp in the middle of the card, metagross, jirachi and dark celebi being dual types get 2 nrg stamps, I got 1 'rev holo' metagross and one reg holo, it looks awesome!

EDIT: The stamp goes to any card that is rare (rare holo or just rare) I noticed this when looking at my blossom.

Also Alternate holos of rares have the typing foil.

Some of the new holos do not have the foil energy symbols in the middle. It seems as if the holo energy symbols in the center of the cards is only for rare cards only. I have only found them on my rare cards.
 
I got the new reverse holo cards. Its a pretty cool design. At first I thought it was the new holographic look :lol: Oh well, I guess they cant be called REVERSE holos anymore since the holographic design is in the picture :lol:
 
I'm still calling them Reverse Holos, because they're the HL equivalent of Reverse Holos.
Has anyone else noticed that the HL holos tend to bend a LOT. They also bend top to bottom or diagonally rather than side to side. Strange.
 
I noticed that the "Energy Holos" have thicker paper, as well as the regular holos. Also, I did see an Exploud that did not have the energy in the middle, so I don't know what the deal is with the energy types in the middle.
 
I'm sorry, but I just can't stand it... They arn't Revearse Holos, they are Paralell Holos. Reverse Holos look as if all but the picture is holo, like the Entei Promo from the third movie. I'm sorry, but it's one of my quirks...

The Regi's seem to have a layer of confetti on them XD. They also are thicker, making it easy to cheat. The cards do bend a lot... makes me mad...

I think we need to call them the Parallel Set now.

So you have Holo's, Exes and the HL Exes with thier holo treatments

and then the parallel set with Holo and Rare Parallels having a large or 2 large where the card is dual type energy symbols in the card text area and then Uncommons and Commons that don't have the large Energy Symbol in the card text area.

All Parallel cards have a different foil treatment to the normal set that has energy symbols in it.

I hope that sums it up nicely?
 
Okay, the way the Reverse, erm, "Parallel" Holos works is that any Reverse Holo whose regular version is either Rare or Holographic has the energy symbol in the attack text. The reason the Exploud you saw had no symbol is that it wasn't a Reverse Holo, it was a regular Holo.
