Nickname Problem

I am trying to vhane the nickname of a pokemon i recieved in a trade. But when i go to slateport the guy just says the nickname is great. How do you get him to let me change the name?

Can't change pokemon's names that were involved in a trade (unless they are in your name)

if you got a pokemon that you just got from a friend and your friend suddenly deleted the game, then you are stuck with that nickname for good.

Your friend can change its name for you, but you gotta trade it back to the same game, trainer, ID# it came from. Then once he/she changes it they can trade it back....

Other than a cheat device thats the only way!!!

Well this was a person i met at an event, so ill never meet him again.
Hopefully in D/P i might be able to change it

Most likely not. They've had this from the very beginning, since red and blue. So I highly doubt they'll change a formula they've had for 10 years.
