@Ultimatedra: Do you just reset for favorable IVs? I thought about RNGing IVs too, but that's a LOT of work compared to RNGing a shiny egg...
Um about 140, The rest are really bad.
I only Soft reset for IV on legendarys and starters and stationary's, The rest is luck

I have 7 battle worthy shinies: Absol (pink doom), Staraptor (Muku.DEATH), Manectric (Cyber M EX) :wink:, Slacking (NosePicker), Porygon-Z (VirusAlert), gallade (CyanKnight), and Giratina (AzureDeath).
The first six are chained in either Diamond or Platinum while I SR'd for Giratina.
By the way, recently I chained a shiny Larvitar but I acidentally KO'd by hitting Seed Bomb instead of Spore on my Breloom. I wanted to catch the kritter in a Premier Ball instead of a quick ball.

Very nice. Something i have always thought was cool where the people who have 1-2 shiny Pokemon on their team. Whenever i see a team with JUST shiny Pokemon, it loses the "AWESOME!" effect, and also some Pokemon look weird as a shiny (Salamence for example is ugly as sin as a shiny).
Porygon, Absol, and Slaking are great looking shinys - and can always hold more than their own in battle.
I am sorry about the larvitar man.

The only shiny Pokemon I've seen from a trainer was the shiny Meowth, Espeon, and Seaking that appear in FireRed or LeafGreen's Trainer Tower. Yeah, it ticks me off on how the game teases us like that.
On my HeartGold when I connect with trainers on Pokewalkers I use a Team of all Shinies, including the Red Gyarados. Also, does anyone know for sure if the Mew you get from Pokemon Ranch can be Shiny?

I don't believe it can be. I may be wrong on that, but I think it's set not to be shiny.

Mew and all other event cannot be shiny. The only exception to this is the manaphy egg, but it is very difficult, and pokemon that are always shiny like the VGC eevee and milotic.
