My group and I will be traveling from Bristol, VA and so are a bit unfamiliar with Raleigh, NC. Are there any suggestions for hotels near the convention center? Are there any special rates set up for this particular event? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Tascha there is the Sheraton, Marriott, and Holiday Inn. I recommend Inn and the free raleigh city bus to convention center

The event is near Garner (south side of the city) so you can search hotels in Garner as well. You're right that there is a bus route in the area - I hadn't thought to look.
The event location is right next to a Big Lots in a good sized strip mall - I should have some great Pokemon posters up outside. (This is not a formal "convention center", so don't let that mis-direct your travel searches.)

Thank you for the heads up! I am sure the Pokemon posters will be very helpful! :D

Two quick items of note:

1) Troll & Toad will be a vendor at North Carolina States - expect some fun Pokemon goodies, plus sleeves and singles for sale.

2) A Special door prize will be drawn at North Carolina states for a large stuffed Groudon. All you have to do to be eligible is bring in your decklist already printed out! You decided on a deck yet? Save yourself some time at the venue (and possibly penalties for errors) and make multiple decklists online - use the decklist generator above to bring one for each of your possible decks. Then if you decide on a last minute tech - all you have to do is cross out one line and replace it.

Just one more week, so get your cards ready now!

You can certainly bring a hand-written deck list - or print one at the venue, but the special door prize will only be drawn from those who bring in computer-printed/completed deck-lists.

All cards in B&W Boundaries Crossed through XY Primal Clash (and any reprinted in earlier sets) are legal. Yes, both N and Colress are legal cards in this format.
