October community update

Greetings Trainers!

October got off to a slow start but has ended with a BANG thanks to the reintroduction of trading. This highly anticipated feature has been redesigned to make it easier to get the cards you need to finish building your decks or complete your collection. This is a new feature to this version of the game, so you may encounter bugs as you use it. Be sure to visit the Feedback, Bugs & Suggestions sub-forum if you encounter an issue with trading.

You’ll also notice by now that we’ve migrated the forums to vBulletin. This forum software is more robust than the old forums, allowing us to implement some really cool features over the course of the next year. There are still some kinks that need to be worked out, but these should be resolved in the coming weeks. Check out the vBulletin Issues and vBulletin Suggestions threads to leave feedback on this upgrade.

The next major game update is planned for the week of November 5th and will add the Black & White–Boundaries Crossed set to the game. We’re also in the process of compatibility testing the Mac client to determine the minimum system requirements and hope to make it available to the public in the same timeframe. The initial, very rough estimate from the developer for system requirements are:

Minimum:
OS: Mac OS X 10.6.2 Snow Leopard
CPU: Intel Core Duo Processor
RAM: 1024 MB
Video: ATI X1600, NVidia 7300 GT, or Intel integrated graphics chip

Recommended:
OS: Mac OS X 10.6.2 Snow Leopard or higher
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
RAM: 1024MB or higher
Video: ATI 2600, NVidia x6xx or higher video card with 256 MB of Video RAM

The Avatar Builder has presented an interesting challenge and continues to be a work in progress. All of the avatar models and items were designed for the original, Flash-based version of the game. Unfortunately, these don’t translate cleanly into the current, Unity-based version of the game. The art team continues to work with the programmers to fix these problems but it is a long, slow process. The community team will keep you posted as we know more about the progress of this feature.

We look forward to hearing your feedback on the latest updates, and appreciate your continued support!
