Not Battle Road prize, but almost.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

At each of these 8 Battle Roads, there were several winning teams, and each winning team got one copy of TSD for each team member. So there are probably more copies of TSD in existence in Japan than the typical Battle Road prize card, but still much less than the massive amount of English TSDs in existence. :p

yeah, i knew it HAD to be rarer than the victory medal promo, but not as rare as those foil trainers that have like, the energies or the mew on them.
thats cool though, eskil. congrats on winning such an incredibly rare card (in japan) =)

I let go of mine for 37.00. Mybe I should have held on to it. *shrugs* I needed the money more than I needed it.

*waiting for the person who pulls the box that has each RH replaced with a TSD*

So that confirms that TSDs come in regular retail packs as well, and not just sealed boxes? I hope so because I can't buy any more sealed boxes for a while.
Well yes, you can still get a TSD from single packs at the store (even walmart, target, etc). However, the odds will be MUCH harder/near impossible for you to pull a TSD that way, because the sealed boxes have guarantees of pulling stuff in them. One example: guaranteed a certain number of EX cards or LV X cards in one box, where if you are in the store buying single packs off the shelf, it is more likely that someone else before you got the pack with the LV X in it which will increase your odds even more of getting another LV X on that same shelf....

The same concept applies here with the TSD card, however since that is super hard to get as it is in a sealed box, I do not even want to think of how hard it will be to pull one from a pack on the shelf....

This really begs the question as to whether it's worth it to buy a box. While MT has many more playable holos and rares than most sets in the past, with the limited number of Lvl X and the rarity of the TSD, I personally don't think it's worthwhile for me to buy boxes anymore (though I have already bought and open 2 boxes).

Well considering that anyone can pretty much get any booster box from any modified set for $60 - $70 on Ebay, I personally think they are worth it enough...:thumb:

One good thing is that I have a guy who comes up to our league every set and trades his more rare cards for commons and uncommons - so guess what I'm trading away to get 3 TSD's? About 400 commons! Other than it being a gift from a friend or something, I doubt anyone can beat that.

I wouldn't go so far to say that pulling any chase card is a "guarantee" from a sealed box. With all the stories of multiple Lv. X + TSD from a single sealed box there's bound to be a few nightmares of a box with zip. I opened a factory sealed TA/TM box that had no Groudon box topper.

True, but how many times have we seen "error" boxes over the years?? I can only think of 3 sets in the last 4 years that have had error boxes. Remember those boxes where people got crazy amounts of Raichu * and the other *??? I forget what set that was in. But still....

Since error boxes are rare, we know for sure that the majority of sealed booster boxes have a guaranteed set amount of cards in them with the exception of error boxes. Standard boxes these days have only 1 LV X in them. Error boxes from MT that I've heard about have 2 - 3 LV X in them. So what I was trying to say, is that you are guaranteed at least 1 LV X in a box and so on....

Wrong. You obviously didn't see my earlier post. One of mine had none.
Well you obviously didn't see my post before yours either then. I said that with the exception of error boxes, boxes are guaranteed to have......... etc.. you know the rest. Perhaps I'm not the only one that needs to look at posts a little closer...
