Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Official PTCGO Bug Thread (Updated 3/7)

It runs about as well as the flash game did now. I seriously do not understand how such an issue gets through QC if they actually test the update before going live.

Being in QA (though not VG QA), I can say this. Not everything is caught during the QA testing process. Especially server load problems, which I think this might be.

The reversion to Unl/Nov should have been caught. But I get the feeling that this is a server load issue, which it tough to QA without a Beta (which, we have to keep reminding ourselves, this game is still in).

Not a bug, but now your opponent gets 5 minutes to reconnect if they disconnect from a game. That is way too long! Nobody wants to sit and wait around 5 minutes for someone to come back.

Even worse, you can't choose to just leave the game and not wait. You are forced to wait for them to return, which is just stupid.

It's almost like they're trying to make this frustrating for everyone. I don't get it.

I'm also tired of it going to full screen mode before it goes to the sign in screen. More unnecessary lag.

Logging in has become a chore in itself. Sometimes my client won't even load enough for me to log in, and I get error messages frequently when I do try. I'd say I have to close and reopen the program about 5 times before it finally works.

OK I got the newest version & downloaded it.
Installed it on the library computer to play the Trainer Challenge.

The look is kinda cool.
The new Avatar thing is a lot better.

Though there are some issues with actually playing the game.

1: When you win or lose a trainer match, it automatically takes you to the very last opponent you can face in the league/tournament.
2: the "OK" & End Turn buttons are very picky on where you have to click.
3: the computer opponent still does stuff like not putting down basics on the bench in the first turn...

Haven't bought any new cards recently, so I can't say anything about the codes.
Though I kinda expected them to do that eventually.

Redeeming multiple codes takes a very long time (and sometimes crashes the whole program). In fact, a lot of things in general just take longer. It's like Trade board speed for everything in the program.

Also they added unnecessary clicking with things like Ultra Ball when searching so you have to click more and my computer always recognizes it as two clicks. That was fine before when all you needed was one click.

I'm not sure if this is really a 'bug' but just now I was playing a game against a guy from the Netherlands, we had played 2 games in a row, the first of which I won quite easily, the second of which was very close and came down him having a catcher. Anyway we were talking through the entire match, and he was a cool guy. On his last turn he tells me he has the catcher, so I know he has the game, but we continue chatting for a bit. Suddenly after a while the game suddenly ends telling me I win because he ran out of time. This annoyed me since he was a cool guy, and he deserved to win that game, yet the system gave me the win.
I am not sure if it is a bug, but the system should acknowledge a player's presence if he is typing, just not currently playing

The only issue with that would be someone could be trolling and typing something like "I won't make a move unless you do such and such on your next turn" or something. That'd be a disaster then. But yeah, I've been in your situation a few times. I always try talking during their turn and hope they do the same otherwise they'll meet an unfortunate fate but it doesn't always work that way.

Not sure if its a glitch, but the scoring system on Trainer Challenge is really messed up IMO.

Playing on expert level in the past netted an average of 1500-2000 points (win or lose, unless you really stunk).
With most wins being in the 3000 point range.

Now I seem to get between 500-1000 points at most.

When I looked at the score calculations it had some that had 2 times the score, but most were .5 times the score.
Remember this is on Expert level.

Unless it automatically goes back down to beginner after each game...
Just like it automatically takes you to the last guy in the league/tournament even if you have not beat anybody in between.

This probably isn't a bug, but it seems like something that should be changed. When I tag my cards for trade, after I trade them, they remain tagged for trade even though I no longer have any copies of it. This makes it so someone making me a trade offer will see these cards for trade and attempt to trade for these cards, even though I don't have them. So I have to manually remove each tag for each card I no longer own.

Also, not a bug, but there probably should also be an "Auto-tag all cards you own for trade" button.

IIRC that only stays like that until you relog, then it should go away.

Ditto appears still glitched with Transform. I transformed a sleeping ditto to Eevee and the sleep condition went away.

So apparently there is a work around for the point thing.
If you go to the league selector & click whatever difficulty (besides the one you want) & then click the difficulty you want, it fixes it.
Yes you have to do it after each game...of course it still takes you to the last person you can face.

Not sure if it was a glitch or not:

Playing against Juji (Fighting deck) she had Crookadile out, and I had Torkoal.
I tried to attack, and it only gave me the option of using Flame Cloak, despite having enough energy to do Heat Blast.
This happened two turns in a row, then it did the opposite & did not show Flame Cloak as an option for the attack.

Also ran into a graphic glitch (I think) where for a few coin flips the font was odd looking.

Finally sometimes between games it would not show the different decks.
So sometimes had to play more than once with a "crappy" deck.

Just now I had a game going in to Sudden Death. I placed a Darkrai-EX active against a Kyurem PLF. The rest of my hand was a Juniper, a Bianca, a N, a Skyla, a Dark Patch, a Hypnotoxic Laser and a Darkness Energy. I flipped to go first, and was not able to play any Supporter Card for the entire game. My opponent was able to play a Skyla and a Bianca. Before Sudden Death, everything was fine with the game.

I think that this is a major issue, as it directly puts one player at a big disadvantage.

I hear there's a bug where trades can't be accepted if there are more than 6 items at a time being traded. Is this true?
