Though the Silvestro's did well with Polistall in '07, I gotta jump in and give credit where it's due since Jake Burt won Regionals in 2006 with it and can be considered the creator of the deck. Though he doesn't play anymore, Jake was -- in my opinion -- one of the best players the game ever had and the closest thing I can claim as a mentor.

Jake Burt definitely was a great player, a great rogue player indeed.

Flariados ran 4 Flareon ex, 1 Espeon ex, and sometimes another tech ex (Crawdaunt or HP Mew). Not quite as reliant as other decks on ex's, but kinda mid-range. I debated putting it on that list, heh.

I could have sworn Flariados took advantage of most of the main eeveelutions. Vaporeon to force the opponent to shuffle for a new hand, Jolteon for the added spread damage, Flareon as the main attacker.

Some lists probably teched 1 of each, but every list I played against just used Flareon ex and Espeon ex. I think I saw a list with an Umbreon ex too.

Claydol-EX - 120HP

Stage 1 - Evolves from Baltoy

When Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Ability: Type Shift

Once during your turn (before your attack), you may use this power. This Pokemon's type is :fighting: until the end of your turn.

:colorless::colorless: Psychic Boom 20+

Does 20 damage plus 10 more damage for each Energy attached to the Defending Pokémon.

:psychic::psychic::colorless: Shadow Crush 60

You may discard a Energy card attached to this Pokemon. If you do, you win the game. Then, discard an Energy card attached to the Defending Pokémon.

Weakness - Psychic Resistance - Retreat - :colorless::colorless:

Claydol-ex is back with a vengeance.

Note: If you take this post seriously...

It only attacked with Eeveelutions as a relative last resort, the main attacker was Ariados.

Interesting deck, because generally decks would set up using a non-ex and attack with the ex... in this case, the ex set up for a non-ex attacker! A case of the extra creativity and flexibility they were afforded by putting Flareon's power on an ex.

This is so exciting! I can't wait for these new cards to come out. I really enjoyed that era of play.

You know what else I can't wait for? T2 WISCASH!

Haven't read the whole thread but saw some posts on ex reprints, I think we can be pretty confident that for the first few sets we're going to see nothing but Unova EX's. Just like the first 2 sets of the HS block had only Johto Primes and Johto Legends and the only non-Johto Prime from UD had a pre-evolution that was introduced in Johto anyway.
