sidebar: Can I trade my pokemon from my Pearl and Platinum games including the Shinies I got from Gamestop over to my W2 game?

It isn't a trade, it is a transfer. Once they leave Pearl/Platinum they cannot go back.

Beat the main story line and the transfer station will open up for you to begin to transfer them over. Youll find the transfer station/lab on route 15.
The best thing is that there is no limit to how many Pokemon you can transfer over in a 24 hour period, and you can transfer over 6 at a time.
You play a sling shot Pokeball game to capture the Pokemon you transfer over.
Ulti is correct in that you can NOT transfer back Pokemon.
Pokemon that know HM moves (surf, fly, ect...) will not trade over (delete those moves first) and NO hold items will trade over as well.
