Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Ontario City Championships UPDATED WITH EVENT INFORMATION

Friday night Winston, Dakota, Reed and myself were talking about what decks to play at Cookstown. I bugged Dakota for a bit then went to bed. I woke up in the morning and read the rest of the group convo on GMail. Last thing I saw was Reeds deck idea for the Flygon deck. Since I was undecided as to the deck I would be playing I decided to throw that deck together with a few small changes.
Left at 9:30 to pickup the Chanman, he had his neighbour posing as his mother. I showed him the 4 decks I had to play and asked him to pick one. He picked the Flygon deck. Not having played the deck before I was a little worried about it.

Round 1 - 1-0 - Marcel w/ Gengar/Machamp - Good game, he just could not get anything powered up.
Round 2 - 2-0 - Dakota w/ Garde - He had a slow start and could not get an attacker going fast enough.
Round 3 - 3-0 - Coleman w/ Dialga/Garchomp C - He had a super fast start and took 3 prizes on the first 3 turns with poison structure. I got my Dusknoir set up on the bench and began to thin out his bench. Flygon was now powered up and I took the next 6 prizes.
Round 4 - 3-1 - Marvin w/ Luxray/Honchcrow etc Looks like the 2009 Sr's world champs deck - Very close game. He kept bringing up my claydol and hitting my bench. It was tied at 2 prizes after the 40 min. I think we played for the last prize in sudden victory for 20~30 min. His expert belt saved him as my Flygon could only do 80 dmg and I needed 90. I could not get another of my benched pokemon evolved soon enough to stop him.
Round 5 - 4-1 - Reed w/ "killer" Luxray deck (Thanks Reed ;))
Round 6 - Top 4 - Alaric w/ Flygon - Game 1 took almost the full hour. It was a back and forth battle where I almost scooped at about the 35 min mark. I got lucky and found a way out. I got ahead in prizes and I think he had 1 prize left in the end. I think we had 7min left for game 2. Oh ya, good singing in the match as well, love it. All I have to say is Ann Murray....Canada's snow bird hmmmm.
Round 7 - Finals - Adam - w/ Charizard/Typhlosion - Game 1 he scooped around turn 6 could not get a good hand. Game 2 he got a better start but he built his bench up too much and I kept dark palming his powered up charizards. In the end it was a very close game where I had to resort to attacking with Dusknoir to weaken him for the flygon attack.

I know it is a short summary but that's all I have time for:
Other info;
Adam beat Marvin in the other top 4 match. Very close game as well.

Paul, I love your sig. Well, that's too bad about Hamilton. That would have meant they would have cancelled it, since they needed at least 8 to be sanctioned.
