Hello all you happy people. My name's Cartoon Eric. I've gotten myself back into the Pokemon TCG not too long ago (Okay maybe just 5 or so months ago). I feel like I've caught on to the game again and decided to get back into building decks. This one I'm going to present is an upgrade to this one particular deck that has been my favorite since I made it back in the days of Generation I. I call this Grass/Psychic deck "Bad Breath". Why do I call it that? For those who are fans of the Final Fantasy series might know about an annoying species of monster known as Malboros, the ugly green tentacle monster with the big toothy mouth. Their main attack is called "Bad Breath" which can hit one or sometimes all of your party members and inflict every single negative status condition in the book. And that was my initial aim in my Pokemon deck: to cause as many status ailments to my opponent as I can. Hence why I gave it the name "Bad Breath". Clever, huh? ;) Anyway I've been reworking my older version of the deck to make it more tournament playable and up to date. Along with the help of this awesome dude at the website Pojo.com I feel like my deck has become much better. Although I'd still like to get opinions on it in case there is something I can improve upon it. Ya know, just in case there's something I'm missing and someone has a better eye and knowledge on this then me.

So anyway here's the deck list for my updated version of Bad Breath I like to call "Bad Breath Prime".

Pokemon:

3 Leafeon UD-17
1 Lefeon Lv. X MD-99
4 Eevee UD-48
3 Roselia UL-61
3 Roserade UL-23
2 Houndour UD-53
2 Houndoom Prime UD-82
2 Drowzee HS-62
2 Hypno HS-23
2 Uxie LA-43
2 Shaymin UL-8

2 Bebe's Search RR-89
4 Super Scoop Up UL-83
1 Luxury Ball SF-86
2 Pokemon Communication HS-98
2 Pokemon Collector HS-97
2 Flower Shop Lady UD-74
3 Energy Exchanger UD-73

8 Grass Energy Basic
2 Psychic Energy Basic
4 Rainbow Energy HS-104

This deck has actually gotten me some very good victories. Even against a DialChomp, whatever you call it, deck that I faced the other day. The whole idea of the deck is to inflict as many status conditions to your opponent that you can get away with, which is where Roserade, Houndoom Prime, and Hypno come in, and then hit hard with Leafeon's Miasma Wind. And if for some reason the opponent lives the status effects will wear them down. At least that's what I'm shoot for in this deck. I feel like it's consistent and I have full confidence in it. I just wanted to share my idea and see what you folks think. If there's anything that you think might make this a bit better or just want to share your opinions then I say go for it and let me know. I'm open to ideas.

why hypno?? all it does is sleep and you need a coin flip for that and its attack needs 3 energy and is weak and take out 2 grass enrgy and 2 rainbow and put in 2 basic dark and 2 special dark :)

Seeker lets you reuse a variety of things, including Shaymin and Uxie...but where it really shines is when you use it for powers like Magmortar's Evolutionary Flame, allowing you to burn and confuse your opponent's Pokémon. They also find uses in baiting an SP player's Power Spray. Very rarely will they have two Power Spray, so that's where Seeker allows you that second chance to inflict statuses. Try it out and let me know how it goes.

i still think the hypno is foolish- i suggest taking the whole hypno kabosh out and adding in a Qnown and someother tools

Hypno is a bad play here.

@Denjin

Shaymin is useless in this deck. Your main attacker takes one energy. I've done a crap ton of testing with this deck and your running it all wrong. Roselia never needs to be over 2-2 runnning a 3-3 is over kill. You also need the Espeon Prime the body lets you use either Lefon's or Leafon L.x's attacks Leafeon X's attack can bring you some big KOs so you dont need to waste status effects. SSU although flippy can make this deck amazing aswell.

Save the Magmortar drop for when you opponent KOs a leafeon and you need the attachment for a new leafeon. Also before we ever get there don't run Umbreon its pointless the damage output is to low to do anything your better off KOing what is active instead of trying to stall. You might want to think of running expert belt also gives you the 120 damage so you can one hit SP Lv. Xs.

Why is Shaymin useless when he's fully capable of powering up Roserade as a secondary attacker? I see you didn't put much thought into that. When you don't consider all the possibilities, you really diminish yourself as a person. Really? A right way to run a deck? Tell that to Yuta Komatsuda. He broke all manner of conventional Luxray/Garchomp deckbuilding conventions by adding in Professor Oak's New Theory and Warp Energy.

Wow! I'm getting some pretty interesting feedback here. And I thank you all for doing so. Some of those ideas are pretty interesting. As for those who are asking why Hypno is simply because, just like Houndoom Prime, it's a techie. It's meant to sit on the bench and use it's Poke-Power to hopefully put the opponent to sleep and add another status condition. At least with sleep if the opponent is still sleeping during their turn they can't retreat unless they got Warp Point or something like that. So pretty much Hypno, Houndoom Prime, and Roserade are the techies in the deck while Leafeon and Leafeon Lv. X are the heavy hitters. With Roserade being the backup hitter if I get Shaymin with Celebration Wind in there to transfer all the energy to Roserade and beef up Power Blow. But that's the thing when you look at some people's decks, you think there's only one strategy they go for when they really have a back up strategy that breaks traditional metagame grounds to get them out of a tight jam. Can't say it works all the time though.
Don't get me wrong folks I do love a lot of these suggesstions. I might even consider things like ommiting the Hypno line in favor of that Magmortar that has the Evo-Flame Poke-Power since it sounds pretty interesting. I got to get my hands on one first. :p I might end up changing out the Energy Exchanger cards since lately I've been finding myself not using them too often since I tend to get the Rainbow Energies I need for some reason. The Seeker I managed to make room for and I do say I like it as a backup to Super Scoop Up if it don't work.

I say keep some of these suggestions coming. They are giving me grand ideas. And for that I say thanks a lot folks. :)

If anything I would prefer Houndoom over Hynpo. To many people run warp energy, warpoint, and switches. Burn can give you some extra damage on the field. Sleep is to easy to get out of. WHy do you need to run a support card for a backup attacker? It breaks consistancy. All of your energy should be on shaymin accept the one on your Leafon or Espeon Prime. Your only going to have 1-2 extra energy spread around the field for shaymin to work you don't have the chance to attach anywhere other that Roserade so shaymin is just a bad start waiting to happen and fill up your bench.

I also did manage to include the Espeon Prime into the deck since I managed to get plenty of those. Most of the other cards like the Unown Q and the Magmortar I'll have to put on hold because I do not have them yet. And I also need to save some money so I can order them from Troll & Toad. That's where I've been getting most of my cards since that site has great prices and the cards come to me rather quickly.

So far my Bad Breath Prime deck looks a little more like this:

Pokemon:
4 Eevee UD-48
3 Leafeon UD-17
1 Leafeon Lv. X MD-99
1 Espeon Prime UD-81
2 Drowzee HS-62
2 Hypno HS-23
2 Houndour UD-53
2 Houndoom Prime UD-82
2 Roselia UL-61
2 Roserade UL-23
2 Shaymin UL-8
2 Uxie LA-43

Trainer/Supporter/Stadium:
2 Flower Shop Lady UD-74
2 Seeker TM-88
3 Super Scoop Up UL-83
3 Energy Exchanger UD-73
2 Broken Time-Space PL-104
2 Bebe's Search RR-89
1 Cynthia's Feelings LA-131
2 Pokemon Communication HS-98
2 Pokemon Collector HS-97
1 Luxury Ball SF-86
1 Premier Ball SF-91

Energy:
8 Grass Energy Basic
2 Psychic Energy Basic
4 Rainbow Energy HS-104

How does that look? A bit better?

As I said VenoMeadow Pokemon like Hypno and Houndoom Prime are pretty much the techies in the deck. I don't intend for Hypno to attack. Just use his and Houndoom Prime's Poke-Power to inflict sleep or burn or both if I'm lucky. And if that doesn't work that's what I got Roserade for. Chances are they're not going to live through having two or even three status conditions when I have Leafeon out. And I kid you not when I said that last week I faced someone who had a deck that was focused on Dialga G Lv. X and Garchomp C Lv. X and I wore him down to the point where I had two prizes left and he had four and he decided to forfeit because I managed to take out the Dialga G Lv. X and Garchomp C Lv. X. It was also because he wasn't aware of the thing about being able to use Roserade's Energy Signal and inflict both poison and confusing when you attach a Rainbow Energy.

Still I might consider changing that Hypno to Magmortar or something else because I'm having the stupidest luck with the sleep status. Seems like every time I inflict the sleep the coin flip in between turns always ends up heads! I mean what's up with that!?

-2 Houndours
-2 Houndoom Primes
-1 Roselia
-1 Roserade
-2 Drowzee
-2 Hypno

+2 Magmar
+2 Magmortar SV
+3 Darkari MD
+3 Seekers

-1 Grass Energy
+1 Fire Energy

Fire energy lets you use Magmortar Flame Ball to OHKO Dialga Lv. X.
Darkari allows you to automatically put them to sleep no flipping needed and the use of SSU and Seekers you should have no problems reusing them(Same with Magmortar)

Interesting. I'll look into that.

How's this for Bad Breath Prime now? I'm trying to work some kinks in it. Like I feel like I need more energy so that I can can draw it when I actually need it. Or maybe some cards that'll actually help me get the energy I need. Any ideas?
