Some people don't care about their rankings. I respect that. To me, Pokemon was always meant to be fun, and competitive play was always an added perk. If you were good at it, then yay. People really do take this game way too seriously sometimes.

I play because my son plays. I stay in the game because it's fun. I don't care about rankings but I did look at my numbers before going to Nationals (my first). I only won one game and lost 90 points! But I tell you, I made some people very happy when they beat me (many close games). Each of my games went 30 minutes or close to it. Whew! That's a lot of card-playing for this mom. I had rare candy prized too often:lol:

:thumb: love the game!

As pointed out, you CANNOT get a rating like this by going 2 and out. You have to play, and play a lot.

I know Dolores and she is probably chuckling as we speak.

I might suggest a consolation prize for those in the three age divisions who stick it out and end up dead last.

Also, I think the post about the top junior was tacky. If I recall, Dolores' son played that player and lost at nats and then dropped - and dropped not totally for points.

If I were the parent, I'd be irked by that post.

Oh well.

Hey, she is the parent of a Drunken Monkey, she has got to be pretty good.

She was fun to hang around with at Nats too...not an overstressed Poke'parent..stressed JUST ENOUGH lol!

I would agree, Andrew's mom is the cooler of the parents, and his dad is not nearly as cool as he thinks he is!

Well way to go Delores! She gets a hi-five from this Poke-mom! Supportive Poke-Parents definately should get more recognition! :thumb:

And whoa Vince! Congrats to Andrew! But better guard your lab coat Vince... now that he's got the 1st ranked Player title under his belt, he might just aim for your job next!

The funniest is, he is a better judge that I am in most respects....

He appears to have been trained by Kendle, and not by me at times (which can be a good thing)

I studied under the Chadian theory of judging...

Anyone who went to a battle road in STL got to see him in action!

What are the odds of having someone I like at the top and the bottom!

Vince

He sat out???

Noooo, don't tell me HE sat out Battle Roads.
Lilmagma played them. Ohhh, that must be when/how Andrew took over Lilmagma's 1st place spot.
I guess you learn something new everyday.
Dolores:confused:

Actually as a pokeMom to 2 juniors in MO, and a n00b about the point system, I do know that there was a correction of a player POP id that combined 2 accounts or something like that during the battle road time frame that changed the rank/points for several of the players.

It is a very competitive area and Andrew is by far tops! Last year when it was 1 and your done, he was gracious enough to win and let a few other players enjoy the glass and glory. This year it was really tough for the other good players. (my .02 cents about how we do not like the points system- at least for juniors)

Andrew is a great judge and player both in the game and the sotg. I can truly say that even though he dominates and I mean DOMINATES, there are no hard feelings. I mean of course it would be fun to win first place at least once in awhile.......but hey its Andrew.....and no shame in losing to the best! Congrats!!!
