Palkia and Dialga MD and leveling up

I think this has not bee asked yet. If you lvl up Palkia that has the Lustrous Orb or Dialga with Adamant Orb of MD, can you use the orbs they have even you put the lvl forms on them.

Not only asked, it's in the Compendium:

It still uses the Item even after leveling up.
