Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

People keep asking me to...

Mikey "Leaksac Magnechu" Fouchet lol

The sad thing is all of our success IN SPITE of you being Leaksac Magnechu. Flygon/memory berry was supposed to be a big secret until you let it out to every player in the Hilton. And in spite of all that nick forthingham still took 3rd after he copied the list, go figure.

Teams work, but you don't form them by inviting people and looking for good players, if you don't work together well, then you won't be successful. The longest lasting, most successful teams in pokemon do so because they have excellent chemistry. We formed ours by getting a group of friends together to from a close knit team. The secret is trust, it's that simple.

Hey RA, I think the best thing to do is just to get people you already trust and know that they would contribute. You can get alot of good Ideas and give alot of good ideas so it works both ways. :thumb:

Teams are great and everything but they are no substitute for having high-caliber players to play against and talk shop with IRL. The issue with using the internet as a medium, rather than meeting with a good bud and talking about an idea as you put it to the test, is that it's easier to post ideas, and all sorts of flaws in logic and rational about the viability and performance of a deck come into play as you try and explain it. There's also the issue of communicating how the deck flows, something which is much more difficult to do on boards than having seen it IRL.

One thing they are good for is eliminating the bias of skill by disseminating ideas. Not everyone on a team is equally competent nor will they play with a uniform style, so one idea whose flaws might not become exposed on account of an imbalance of skill during testing by one player IRL becomes made evident and held accountable when a player of different skill gives the deck some serious runs having already put it through its paces to become comfortable with it.

How is my team elitist? Please explain to me how.

My last comment on teams; People are going to hate your team because they don't like you personally. I find that rather interesting that some people dislike a team because of the person in charge, even when the team could be full of that persons friends. I can say that: Afstandopelern does not like Team Hatter because he got kicked off for various reasons. He may be bitter about it, idk, but just kinda tell everyone on your team that it's OK if not everyone likes you. I have talked to people who have wanted to leave teams because people didn't like the team.

Because you and your friends love to act elite. For example. I play an working Aggron deck that beats the tar out of Speedrill and Gengar in Redshark against you or 1 of your buddies. When I lose in 1 way or another, I get comments along the line of "You are so easy to metagame." or "Some cards are just so terrible that you shouldn't be playing them in the first place.". You aren't going to tell me that remarks with such air are justified in any way.

I am honestly pretty flattered that you can't ignore me and just have to respond to whatever I post. I guess I left quite a helpfull impression (I was the first in your team to see Pory Promo's potential in your team for example).

I also can't decide to find it cute or just stupid that you just don't seem to get that it's impossible for everyone to like you and your team. I honestly think that RA actually does know this, unlike you.

we arent allowed to talk about teams on the gym?

Whoa...

I thought we weren't allowed to discuss SPECIFIC TEAMS on the gym

i.e. "Could someone give me information about Team Hatter?"

I wasn't aware that we could not discuss the CONCEPT of having a team in the Random Topic Center.

If I'm wrong.... OMG!! and..

That'd be mad embarrassing....

Yeah, you can't talk about a specific team. This is about the concept of a team, not any one team.

Also, you should make a team. I would totally go for it.

Haha naw I was just asking cause someone else said something about it so I was confused.

rawr now all this team talk has me inspired to make one lol

RA: You would be the perfect leader for a team. I know if you made one that it will

1) Be popular because you are a great mod and a great person.

2) Would be successful because of how much you think about the game and can go off on 10 hr discussions

If you decide to make a team make sure you LMK!

Haha  must mean that RedShark tournament where I used straight Sableye against Dusknoir. Also, yes I did say you were easy to metagame against, because all you were playing at the time was Dusknoir. Also, you must know that no matter what decks you make, people are going to think cards are terrible. It is just people's opinions and how they work.

I am going to defend my team. Also, you did leave quite an impression alright  Well, after all of the tournaments Porygon has won I can see we were quite wrong not to drool over your post.

Uhh, I know not everyone likes me or my team. More people hate me than like me. Just how life goes ya know?

Anyway Mr. RA, good luck with your team, and I hope to see you and your teammates at the top of tournaments very soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do iNet Teams REALLY help each other? Yep. My team helps each other, parties with each other, rooms with each other.

How secret is a team's "Secret Deck"? Very secret. Look at Dialga this year and my team's overwhelming states success with it. We took 2 1sts, and 2 2nds opening weekend when people didn't consider the idea of dialga as the superior attacker. Dialga was the best deck for states, hands down. No one had our list that wasn't given it. I'd estimate that only 1% of players even ran a similar looking list week 1.

I'm tempted to kick this thing off, but is it worth the effort of setting up the team site? It takes 5 minutes to start a forum.

I've seen some failed efforts too :/ Some kids are bad. At pokemon and at making a team.

What's your opinion of teams? They are lovely.

You can't trust people who aren't your friends to not leak. "internet friends" will simply leak off any deck you give. Don't be naive. Trust me. I've been running a team for 4 years now, and if there's anything I've learned, it's that people leak ALL DAY. You can only trust people not to leak that you could trust rooming with you.

If I don't count the few hours you slept on the way to Nats... the Gyrarados discussion was about 12 and on the way back our failed SD idea (which I haven't really given up on yet) was 10 ... so .. 22 hours of Pokemon discussion

Discussion about specific Teams has never been welcome. They always seem to turn into flames about who's team is better than who's.

A topic, that actually stays on topic, regarding the merits of teams and the reasons behind them - in general, not specific groups, seems to be fine.

This topic will stay open as long as the discussion remains on topic and does not become a recruitment topic of flame war of team vs. team.
