Peta's at it again. Attacks Pokemon

Maybe they don't want to deal with future Michael Vicks?

Really? Are you serious right now, Pokemon does not create animal torturers. The entire point of the story arc of Black and White was that by Reshiram/Zekrom choosing you, you proved that it was entirely possible for you to be friends with your pokemon. In Gold/Silver your rival is the "bad guy" because he mistreats his pokemon. This entire stupid movement by PETA is ridiculous because they are showing the EXACT OPPOSITE of what pokemon actually promotes.

From PETA's perspective, sensationalism around a salient theme often does more to promote an agenda than an accurate representation. In other words, PETA's goal isn't to accurately depict the message that Pokemon embodies, but rather to get you to click on the link.

I remember when PETA attacked Cooking Mama, and the localization team replied with an in-character reply where Cooking Mama explains that there are several vegetarian dishes in the game for those who don't want to deal with the meat.

I hope Professor Oak makes a similar reply.

I don't see where they are completely wrong.

Also, they are attacking Pokemon as a whole, not just Black and White 2.

What's funny is that it's working. It isn't like they care whether you agree with them or not, haha.

Who here is a dogfighter, say "I".

cue cricket sound effects.

It doesn't matter. Although I am joking in a way, to the PETA, Pokemon battles of any kind are no different to what Michael Vick did. Who knows if the dogs are Michael Vick's friends. PETA's argument fails, because we see tons of people playing Doom, and they aren't all murderers, because Pokemon, like Doom, are both games. Same with GTA, Duke Nukem Forever, and Leisure Suit Larry.

Imagine if this game was linked to from a popular Pokemon site (like Pokegym, for example), thus increasing the likelihood of little kids seeing graphic, real-life animal abuse a mere three minutes into the game.

//the horror!

The way I see it. Pokemon are made to created to fight. That is their purpose. Even Professor Oak said "Some use them for battles while others keep them as pets." Something along those line. Even the original of Pokemon, had fighting, Pokemon being killed and them using them as weapons of war. You guys remember how evil the E4 was right?

Even playing the Pokemon games, I've always had a problen with the games not being rated at least E-10+ because you fight animals against each other. The Pokemon Rumble series is rated E-10+ because of it.

Now, Peta may have a point about it can promote arranged animal fights by humans but its really no different then going on a killing streak because they can do it in GTA. You can't blame one on the other. Animals, just like Pokemon are made to fight. its what they do. Even in the games with no human interaction (which are my favorite game), the Pokemon still fight with each others but just like normal animals, Pokemon can also live with humans and other animals in peace.

What I'm trying to say is the game Peta made truly offends me as a fan of Pokemon because Pokemon does nothing but promote love and care for animals, Pokemon and humans.

Now that you say it, it may be a good idea to remove the link.

Ah PETA, are you that desperate to distract from the fact you pretty much are Team Plasma?

You know, I haven't had a chance to play even the original Black or White games yet, and since I also don't regularly watch the cartoon I was avoiding spoilers. The basic gist I've gotten is that Team Plasma feels Pokémon are abused by society in various ways (including battling) and fights to free them...

...except the higher-ups are just in it for the power (and motives of individuals can vary from sincere "believers" to people just looking for an excuse to cause trouble). In fact, Ghetsis doesn't actually believe in his message, and merely wants to secure power for himself by duping the masses into surrendering their Pokémon.

Just like PETA, except swap "Pokémon" for animals, and of course the finer points change as well; whittling away the rights of the individual using "animal rights" as an excuse, knowing that in the end they will reduce humanity to mere animals themselves, from a "legal" perspective... at which point one suspects that "animal rights" will quickly fly out the window. I wonder if Team Plasma kills 95% of the Pokémon in their care, the way PETA does animals?

Four legs good, two legs better.
