pidgeot TM is a great counter for many things!!!

gyarados
sp
i think it would be a good tech in a sablock deck.
or something.

Only really good if you tech in a Donphan because they can just poketurn or retreat out of it haha

but yes goodmcard against Gyrados.

I smell trolls. =)

And no this is not good against Gyarados, it does only 20 damage and Gyarados can use Warp Energy or Warp Point. You could as well just use this card to block Tail Revenge, but guess why nobody does?

The main assumption I think people are making here are that they will always have a warp point or poke turn to get out of trouble; this is never the case, as you will never ALWAYS have that card to get out of Headwind, and Retreat Costs add up if you don't have free retreat and play a ridiculously low energy count...

And for what it's worth, I think Pidgeot has potential; slap an expert belt on and it can quickly Headwind stuff into KO range of no-Heads Quick Attack. Only Luxray GL really annoys it, mainly due to weakness and the oodles of free retreat that is about in Luxchomp. Something like Dugtrio could be fun to punish Retreating Pokemon though, especially by stacking Sinkhole...and hitting Luxray for weakness...

Yeah I agree with Regis Neo. Everyone calls it bad cause they will just warp or turn out of it. Well, even with 4 warp point in your deck, your not always going to have 1 at the ready. And even if you do, you can only run 4 at most.
If you warp, Pidgeot remains safe. If you turn, you've used up a resource sooner then normal.

Assuming you will always have that certain card is basically the same as assuming you'll get that "god" start. While it happens, its not very common.

Take Gdos for the example, they use like 3 warp point at most. And 2 or 3 Warp energy at most.

exactly my point.

Not to mention Pidgey...
Attach a memory Berry and you can help pidgeot survive. While getting another pokemon at the same time. It can really help lol

Well, go ahead and call me when you're top cutting cities with pidgeot. What? My phone number? Haha. You won't need it.

The 'hope for the best' argument doesn't really stand up.

'Yeah, this is a great tech for when they can't draw into any of the 4-6 cards in their deck that will save them! I'm devoting deckspace to a Stage 2 tech line because it's totally worth relying on your opponent's bad luck!'

Don't tell me, you Belted the Pidgeot and searched it with Twins . . . now Gyarados only has 4 turns to hit that Energy!

Technically, if you're willing to risk Quick Attack early, you can KO it after 1 belted Headwind, or alternatively 2 belted Headwinds + Quick Attack regardless of flip will KO it.

Though I agree, Pidgeot TM isn't really tech material.

headwind for the win..

I can't think of one meta game deck this card can counter.
