Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Platinum—Arceus - Rapidash Revealed!

Wow this is sure to heat up my game, and it's graceful swiftness to flee to the bench is the icing on the cake!

its odd that they keep revealing the bad cards instead of the good stuff for this set its really making it look like a horrendous set

Oi, it takes 2 energy less then Arcanine AND has 10 HP more! Surely there is a huge power creep at work here, given how they're both Uncommon Fire Stage 1's coming from back-to-back sets.

LOL they probably put the wrong rapidash up to advertise .... I hope anyways. Either that or they need to hire people :p

Oh, this thread is highly amusing.

Prerelease, I will run this card if I get it. 10 and burn + 40 for two energy, plus free retreat to another Rapidash if yours gets hurt, that's really painful.

Beyond that, nope.

Im trying to think...are there an Stage 1's that are even worth playing....
90hp is the same a most basic SPs

10 for 1 and 40 for 2
Thats so generic.

what is wrong with giving rapidash 100 hp? at level 45 ...90 hp really?
Im going to find a way to profit off of useless pokemon cards....and then i will be rich!

Best. Card. Ev--- nope.

This is going to rock prereleases. This is going to get rocked in standard competitive play. If this card had come out during the E-card series, it would have been the most broken card in the game. However it came out now, and thus it is frown. At least its better than arcanine from the last set.

I dont know what you guys see in the art by the by. It seems stale and bland to Marshtomp. Rapidashes should be seen exploding in flames, running across dry fields; setting them ablaze with volcanos erupting in the background. I'd say it's better than claymation but that's comfortably nostalgic for those of us who played when the neo sets were around.

Why? Why is this card worth putting on the front page? It's nice for a pre release, but I think that's all its good for. A little early game disruption like that isn't game changing.

Put SP on it, making it a basic and it's a decent Pokemon. But as printed it's yet another underpowered stage 1. Yawn. Even Monferno does 30 and burns for 1 energy and has no retreat cost.

Why would anyone use this in Blaziken?

You can either do Luring Flame for Burn with the Blaziken FB Basic or . . . wait for a non SP Stage 1 and get a massive 10 extra damage for your trouble.

Exactly. No good. The proportion of the artwork seems off too....

I'm just curious why the other rapidash wasn't shown instead. That's the one that stops all effects/damage of SP pokies to that rapidash. Why show this one? What was the thought process behind choosing this, when one so much better, that REALLY would have gotten people excited about the new set, was available? Anyone?

In the japanese set, there are 2 rapidashs. The one shown in this thread is from the theme deck.
