Player Rewards

Which player level would you shoot for, though? You could meet the 15 PP requirement easily. But I suspect it would take A LOT of effort to be in the Top 100 Masters. With all that we participated in, Xander is in 26th place in 2012 Juniors with 70 PP, and I'm in 126th place with 65.

If they gave the career Judges the PPs that they would have earned if they had Played instead of Judged/Staffed, that would be fine by me.

But as a judge/staff don't you already get exculsive rewards? STAFF stamped promos, plus most TO's compensate their staff, particularly for the big events. Plus there is all the Professor exclusive merchandice you can earn. These are all rewards you get for giving up your chance to win in exchange for the responsibility of making sure the event is a success.

A "highly sought after trainer card" could be any of the ACE SPEC cards. I suspect it depends if the rewards program is put together by the Marketing department or the Organized Play department. Personally I kind of like that Tropical Beach is only available to players at WORLDs - it makes qualifying for Worlds a reward.

Wouldn't you say that Judges are instead earning Professor Points to redeem for other merch? Isn't that fair already?

^^ But that's an individual problem, not a problem of the system. Unless you're talking about Judges who aren't of age to be Professors, but there has to be tradeoffs.

This is cool, but I'm kinda disappointed by the Player of the Year and the Top 100. Rewarding people that have the most money and time to attend events seems. . . kinda silly. Yes, you want to encourage attendance, but still. This seems a little excessive. I'd rather see, like was mentioned earlier, the Top 100 turned into 40+ points. I guess you can leave Player of the Year, but I dislike that title being attendance based rather than performance based.

Performance is already rewarded by an invitation to Worlds, and of course the prizes earned along the way at each tournament.

I don't understand why can't they reward the people that "Play!" the most? Don't you think those people deserve something for their dedication?

I can agree with the top 100 to a degree (especially when you see that those currently up there have 40+ points), but player of the year? I know one of the people that tied for player of the year last year, and while he isn't top tier he had the motivation to go to as many tournaments as possible, and that feat regardless of performance I think is completely worth a reward. In fact I like the notion of extending rewards to those who don't play solely to win, and enjoy the game for different reasons.

Nice to hear that player rewards are continued in some way. Excited to see that special card since I should be top 100. =)

However, as some others already mentioned, I don't really like that kind of competition since your access to events and play points it is really dependant on where you live.

Found it, I guess 2013 is the season that started with worlds 2012. Does a season start or end with worlds? CP count towards the next year, right? Also playing worlds gives you a giant advantage. And I wonder if they'll do this per region or not. Because we dont have states in europe :/
As long as only the first worldwide is awarded, there isn't any chance and there won't be any chance in future that anyone outside of the Netherlands will win this prize (at least in masters). They not only have the probably highest premier tournaments per area ratio, but also a great nationwide organisation that enables players to attend every single premier event in their country. (that's of course not a blame but a good thing you can be proud of, it's just not fair competition to players from other countries)

It would better imo to hand our lower prizes than 8 (!) booster boxes but therefor distributed either to more people on the ranking list or to the first of each country (for big countries like USA of course more than only the first).

Would be fairer if you can spend the points earned.

And if they counted every League attended. I have 8 points. I run 2 Leagues. Not going to make 15 PP.

Funny i just checked my Profile and it shows i have 5 PPs. Strange. Over 1500 Prof points though.

Watch as the highly sought after Trainer card turns out to be a ...Potion.

But anyways I dunno, it's kinda fun, even if it being yearly is kind of a long wait.

One other small gripe: I really wish we had known about the Top 100 thing sooner. Then I could have actually worked harder to make Top 100 last year. If the trainer really IS Tropical Beach, then that's a little frustrating. If not, then I guess it doesn't matter so much.

I wonder if this includes international players as well. I haven't recieved player rewards in a long time :S

Also is the top player reward split by region or country? or just global?

Country would be more fair granted each country has different OP limitations making it hard to earn play points.

It wouldn't be a flat 100 if they were doing it by country. Many countries don't even have 100 players.
