SP's have obviously taken over the format since the Platinum release; but with all that is being rotated, will SP's still dominate after Worlds? Do stage 2's have a chance to dominate again? Here is a brief list of what we are losing:

Call Energy
Uxie LA
Uxie Lv.X
Claydol
Roseanne's Research
Azelf LA

With what looks to be a supporter-heavy format after Worlds, what decks/cards/engines do you think will dominate and why?

EDIT: This is under the assumption we are going into a PT-on format after Worlds 2010.

No sir. SPs are great because of the unique engine that they utilize. Roseannes won't be missed that much because of Pokémon collector, but I can't imagine playing my luxchomp without uxie, uxie x, call energy and azelf.

However, I think SPs will need pokegear and other ways to get supporters because cyrus will be their whole deck.

( this is assuming they rotate the league promos:biggrin:)

Why do we assume we know what we know is being rotated? We dint know if they will rotate anything in the first place. We thought last year that it would be great encounters on.

This. I mean, there's an outside chance that it could be HGSS-On (if they go with biennial rotations now), in which case no, they won't because there won't be any in the format :p

I say definitely.Sure they lose a lot, but so do other decks. SP still has the broken engine and they can use VS seeker to reuse Cyrus.

People will try to make it a contender. I really doubt it will be.

Arceus will, for a short time, be very, very broken.

Maybe a not-so-short time, actually. Its counters will be rotated out and it will have the fastest engine in the format.

worlds is in what 4 months? by then we get unleashed and maaybe another set....small pickings if yah ask me. i doubt they will go hgss-on. my guess is up to platinum.

SPs can live and thrive so long as PT doesn't get rotated; granted, they slow down a bit without Claydol and Uxie support, but you have to remember they also have a fairly easy "replacement" of sorts with Staraptor FB Lv X and a well-developed engine, whereas every other deck suffers with no clear Claydol/Uxie replacement revealed so far.

^ right. Lots of SP doesnt even run claydol. SP has it better off since they still have cyrus / sp radar at the core of their draw power. IDK what other decks are going to do, but I believe SP will be even MORE viable since everyone else is losing that claydol which is run in EVERYTHING excepting a lot of SP

Has a rotation been announced already????

I'm highly banking on a HGSS on format, If not I pity everyone I face next year because if they're not running exploud to counter weakness I'll tear them apart with Arceus...

Everyone - this question I asked is under the assumption we are having a Pt-on format. It makes the MOST sense, as HGSS-on would probably be the worst decision ever. So they skip a rotation of the average 4 set rotation and go from supposed to rotating 7-8 sets to 12+? Doubt it.

Absol, I love your heated discussion tactics and superior debating skills when putting your highly intelligent thoughts and opinions into a thought-provoking conversation. It's amazing.

If it's PT-on, I see SP dominating slightly more than it is now... Those cards are losses, but remember every other deck (besides Arceus (somewhat)) is losing a ton more. Collector is a good substitute for Rosie's as Cyrus searches out the energy anyways. Most SP decks can get away from playing Claydol.

Arceus loses Warp Energy (which is somewhat of a loss); however, it is pretty much otherwise untouched. For this reason, and it's good SP matchup, it will probably exist (but in the minority).

Cursegar could still be around, just less versatile. Jumpluff will thrive on lack of bench limiting (DP Dnoir, Mismagius) and less dmg output (Bees, Gdos).

Anyways, my predictions...

I think that Decks like LuxApe and BlazRay will be the best ones next season, because they are still able to have a consistent draw engine....
NINETALES GS FTW!!!!

Ninetails is not consistent in a SP deck. You will not have enough energy to use for roast reveal. Luxape needs its energy for fire blast and Blazeray might be able to sacrafice a few, but Dodrio would get you more cards with its power because you can use it every turn.

i hope to god its HG/SS on, im so sick of hearing

"lux___"
"___ray"

like damn the format is stale. With all the changes they introduced(slower cards, dce, double weakness) im sure it will be HG/SS on.
