Plumeon Lock: A Gambit to Destroy LuxChomp

I would suggest the CFF MD Eevee. The RR one is nice, but if you get a horrible lone eevee start with the RR, an evolution won't help you much. With 10 less HP, it's also much easier to donk.
But, if I start with two or more Pokemon, and Spiritomb isn't one of them, then I'd prefer to start Eevee and quick evolve, especially with the relative lack of Evolution searchers in this deck (forced due to the lock)
@bullados - yea, sorry... I didn't see your X in there at first. My bad.

Hmmm...

That's the dilemma right now, and it's what's causing me to think hard about the choice between 2/2 and 3/1 on the Glaceon line. I was thinking about a Judge/Palmer/Uxie thing, but that's unreliable at best. 2/2 might be better midgame, but 3/1 is better early game, when the lock is truly necessary (i.e. before they clog their hands and their Uxies become useless). They're still under a Trainer lock, though, so I'm pretty certain I can get the LvX back into play before they can fully utilize their Powers. It's something that requires testing to see which version works better...

Since Glaceon lv.x is so crucial to your "lock" you should run 2/2 ;)

also, run the eevee that has call for family, search your deck for any 1 basic. that way you can get oddish etc

gl sir and don't forget about umbreon UD!

Why not use Snow Cloak Glaceon from MD? Sure, you reduce damage with the RR's body, but flipping heads with Snow Cloak prevents all damage as well as effects. I also think you should run 2-2 Glaceon X, btw.

Just remembered that the Glaceon I'm talking about has an attack for 60 that negates any effects on the defending pokemon (special metals).

I'm probably going to switch to 2/2 Glaceon, and make both of the base forms Snow Cloak. I don't like teching for an initial build, so it's either one or the other right now.

Any other thoughts?

Just tested this out for the first time, but with a slightly different list with a couple of experiments I tossed in. Here are my (rough) notes about the deck...

1. I CAN stand up to Dialga, but it's still a tough match. As I said above, it's a race, for the most part. I can get completely set up by turn 3 with both a Glaceon and a Vileplume in play. Dialga, when it doesn't have its Trainers as a resource, has to rely upon topdecking for the most part. It's pretty even in the speed category. If I can get a T2 Glaceon with T2 Plume, they have very few options.

2. Flower Shop Girl is amazing here. It gets me back an entire KO'd Glaceon LvX. In fact, I realized that, with only 100 HP, I need to have at least two of the things in here.

3. 8 Water is enough for this deck. I was playing with 4 Calls and 2 Warps as well. I'll try with 7 or 6, but I think 8 will be perfect here.

4. 2-1 Uxie is plenty.

5. Unown Q isn't necessary, but it helps.

6. Volkner is a dead draw.

7. This deck needs to have 4 Trainers. I'm thinking 1 Lux, 2 Comm, 1 Premier.

8. The better the deck I'm playing, the more devastating this deck becomes. I love eating LuxChomps ^_^.

Here's what I've got right now...

Pokemon (21):
4 Spiritomb
3 Eevee MD62
2 Glaceon MD5
2 Glaceon LvX
2 Oddish LA 112
2 Gloom LA Psychic
2 Vileplume UD
2 Uxie LA
1 Uxie LvX
1 Azelf LA

Trainers (25):
3 PONT
3 Copycat
2 Cynthia's Feelings
3 POV
4 Bebe
1 Lux Ball
2 Communication
1 Premier
4 BTS
2 Flower Shop Girl

Energy (14):
4 Call
2 Warp
8 Water

I'll probably end up dropping down to 7 or 6 Waters with more practice, adding in another POV and the Unown Q to free retreat my Glaceon when necessary.

Okay there just one major problem with this deck when glaceion x is knocked who are you going to attack with is it glaceion. If you had floatzel x on the bench you could get him back in your hand send up another glaceion and level it up.

I've tried other, far faster and far more consistent, decks with Floatzel. They all failed miserably. Floatzel is not a good card. Do not suggest it for this deck.

well i cant see a solution here then and you didnt answear that part and i dont think it would be that slow you can retreat glaceion and bring up floatzel then put a mespirit down on your bench and there we go it works for me well and this kid who go's to my pokemon league....i have a hard time beating that deck and so does every one elise. There is the rescue energy comeing out thoue.

The answer is he has a benched Glaceon that can then be leveled up again immediately. That's how you play Glaceon.

I am so excited you have no idea. Bullados, you and I need to test this. Lots. Now.

- oak visit
+oak new theory

- 2 more oak visit

+ 1 Shaymin X
+ 1 PokemonComm.

also, -8 water and +8 grass. Im guessing that's what you meant to say.

Should've updated the original post... Oh well.

I put both in for this build. Overloading is my basic tendency, and it's worked pretty well for me.

I just updated the deck again. POV wasn't doing anything for me, and my Dialga matchup has me constantly worried. I took out the POVs and 2 Waters for a Flareon RR, 2 Fires, and 2 Collectors. The RR Flareon pretty much oneshots a Dialga with BTS and a Fire Energy, plus with Undevelop, it can become a Glaceon very quickly. I think it'll be kinda fun to sit with a Flareon on the bench for a few turns while building up the 3 energy I need for Glaceon, then Undevelop and evolve into Glaceon nice and quicklike. Being able to Undevelop chain is also a good tactic.

As far as the Collectors, I noticed that I was lacking in Basic searchers in the midgame, and Collector is about as good as any card out there to pull Eevees back after a FSG.

Still trying to work out the speed and consistency kinks from this thing, but it's plenty disruptive as-is...

After a couple of test games, the balance is far better than it's ever been in the past. As long as I start with a Tomb, I've got an above average chance of getting the full lock by the end of turn 3. The second Glaceon is coming a little bit slower than I'd like, but it's kinda the nature of the beast running Plume for the Trainer lock. I'll know more after League tomorrow, facing a couple DialgaChomps to see how bad that matchup truly is...

I just updated my original deck. The 1-1 Dodrio pretty much completely turned around my Gengar/Vileplume matchup while not hurting any other matchup I have to face. That thing's sticking around for a while.

Cynthia wasn't helping me, so she gets dropped.

My 4 Trainers are probably 1 too many, but I'm at a loss as to what exactly I should take out or put in for that one Trainer spot.

Also, two great debates for my Dialga TecH. Flareon vs. Blaziken FB, and Fire Energy vs. Rainbow Energy. My basic thought is that Flareon can serve as a third attacker against anything, while Blaze is a Dialga TecH ONLY and does nothing against the other matchups I've got to face. On the other hand, Flareon can't do crap if Dialga Warps out of the Active spot. For the other spots, Fire is recoverable, but Rainbow can be dropped anywhere. Thoughts?

Needs Giratina and/or Judges. Very devastating under Trainer+Power Lock
If you use Giratina/Judges, I'd suggest 1 more Uxie so you have a better chance of getting it after your new 4 card hand.

Smeargle can help setup immensely, I don't suggest taking out Spirtombs for them though. Use them both that way your opening hand will rarely be garbage.
Smeagle can help on the Dialga Matchup as well, use their Cyrus grab a Judge/Bebes etc(for Giratina) if you know they can get a Dialga G X next turn. If they don't have Cyrus use their Bebe's/Collector Etc. The magic of SP decks is, you will always know at least 1 supporter that is in their hand after a Cyrus.
