Two-Card Promo Booster and Popular Pokémon Giveaways Available Exclusively Through Pokémon TCG League and Organized Play

BELLEVUE, Wash.-July 20, 2005-Pokémon USA, Inc. (PUI), a worldwide leader in the trading card game industry, today announced the Pokémon® Organized Play Series 2 Card Set, which includes 17 new Trading Card Game (TCG) cards to collect, play, and trade. The Series 2 set, distributed as a 2-card promotional booster, will be released in August 2005, during the Pokémon TCG World Championships. A sneak-preview of the set is now available through Pokémon's Player Rewards program, and it will be available through participation in the Pokémon TCG League and other Pokémon Organized Play (POP) events following the official release date.

Pokémon USA, Inc., released the Series 1 set in September 2004 and plans to release a new series of 2-card promo boosters on a regular basis every six to twelve months. A limited number of each card series will be released in French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and English. Each series will be exclusive to POP for six months, making league and various POP programs the only way to obtain these unique cards for a limited time.

"Participation in Pokémon Organized Play give players of all ages the opportunity to earn exclusive card sets, before they are available to the general public," said Susan Scheid, senior marketing manager at Pokémon USA, Inc. "Above and beyond obtaining access to limited merchandise, players also improve strategic skills, build camaraderie, and gain exposure to other cultures through involvement with Pokémon TCG leagues and tournaments."

A limited number? As in only 2 agoogle packs?!?!

So now the question is, what cards are in them? I'm very excited, can't wait! I'm also glad that they are players awards. So awesome!!!

not too impress cos i am more preferred to have the season promos like the ones in year 1? pop packs are too boring

LETS INTRODUCE THE ENGLISH VERSION OF PLAYERS CLUB!!!

At least we get something for playing. Last night I took a new player (10 & under) - just start really playing in the last month - to league. The league leader was giving out POP 1 boosters to everyone and we all gave those cards to this kid to help him with his cards. He didn't care that he got 8 or 9 Swellows, the Plusle / Minun bunches, he was just happy for the cards. He also got a Meta, Scept, and Armaldo EX from the packs, so we didn't pick 'em clean and give him the junk.

Kudos to PUI for the support we get and for the chance to play this game.

Thanks

Why they not take sets in Spanish? Portugues? Only two countries in the whole world speak this languaje.
Maybye, we will get Lucario on this set, and a Alakazam-line.

^exactly. wasn't the original plan to be every 6 months? now it's every 6 to 12 months. Nice cover there, PUI.
Wow.

Ever heard the phrase 'look a gift horse in the mouth'?

The cards are free, are sent to us for free, and people are COMPLAINING?

I guess there's no satisfying some people, ever....=/

actually two countries speak portuguese: Portugal and Brazil

on to the topic at hand they must make an alakazam line before the next gen comes out...i mean one of the most loved pokemon being shafted?...i sure hope not

woohoo, POP 2...I wonder what we'll get in it...POP 1 was all japanese promos, I believe they were mostly from the destiny deoxys 7-11 pack, correct? Who knows, maybe if we're lucky we'll get some player rewards cards in POP 2...

So they're finally releasing the POP2 cards. I've been waiting for this a long time. The sweetest part is that those signed in on the Player Rewards program will get a sneak peek and not just the Worlds attendees like last year.

Wonder what's going to be in them - any speculations?
