Pokémon Communication Failed Search

Is it possible to "fail" your deck search for a Pokémon while using Pokémon Communication? The order of events for this would be:
1) Reveal a Pokémon from hand
2) Put that Pokémon on top of deck
3) "Fail" the deck search
4) Shuffle deck, play continues

Pokémon Communication: Reveal a Pokémon in your hand and put it on top of your deck. If you do, search your deck for a Pokémon, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward.​
