LOL. Banette is the spirit of a doll whose intent is to seek REVENGE on the child who threw it away. OMG how sick is that?

Then there's Spiritomb who was locked away for sins.

ZOMG being exposed to this will turn us all into raging psychopaths

Do you think pokémon has a subtle evil to it? Wooooo...

No. Christians and other religions only think pokemon is evil because all that money can go to them and their "red dragon" not to mention most Churches/ Religions spend 50-55% (on the LOW END %) of the money they get on themselves the building and their paycheck.

There are a few Churches who realize you can meet in a PARK and still be a Christian but noo its all about money and attendance.

/end rant

^ I don't think it's completely off topic. It is off topic but not by much. She's just proving a point and stating a fact.

Uh, NOT a fact. I don't think that has ANYTHING to do with why most Christians think certain things (e.g. Pokemon, Harry Potter) are evil.

They're ghosts.. what do you want them to be, like Casper? HE was friendly.. and couldn't fight. And, we all know what happened to him..

Anyway, Christians are really against Pokemon mainly due to controlling "monsters" for fighting and it introducing "evolution" to children. Which we all know didn't happen 'cuz we all magically appeared here on Earth, by golly.

You mean... the "extreme" Christians think this. Otherwise, I don't know if I should be playing this game. : ( : ( : (

I didn't say anything about most Christians.
I said people/ Christians/ Other Religions That think Pokemon is evil.
I am a Christian and I play pokemon.

The Religious people who do not like pokemon just are jealous those little kids don't put their quarters in collection plates.

Thats what it is. They don't actually think it is evil Trust me.

I'm not religious at all. If pokemon was evil people wouldn't call it a child's game. I do believe people think it is evil. I'm still trying o figure out why people listen to the Pokerap backwords in the first place. ALL SONGS BACKWORDS HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH SATIN, I don't know why.

Smells Like Teen Spirirt by Nirvana says I hate you a million times and i love satin a million times.
Stairway to heaven says Satin is Good. ***!!! The people who listen to song backwords and write the lyrics they hear down are crazy.

Pokemon is evil, Yu-Gi-Oh isn't. Hmm.

Yu-Gi-Oh does have religious undetones to it. There's a card, for example, called The Tower of Babel. ;/
Another is Helpoemer add an l at the end of Hel and what do you get? There's a card called ****'s Labyrinth or something like that. The list goes on. But is Pokemon at all trying to make religious references. I would think not.

Will you people stop talking about religion and look at the original post. The person asked if pokemon might have an evil side. They didn't ask if you thought the game had anything to do with religious teachings. I believe, to answer the REAL question, yes, pokemon has an evil side, but so what, everything has an evil side to it. There, i'm the first one to answer the question without a religous based response. In closing, if you want to talk about how f-ed up religion is, start your on thread, otherwise just answer the original question.

I wouldn't call it evil by any means. I know there are some extremists out there, that won't have anything to do with monsters and whatnot, but the general Christian community, I beleive, does not think like that.

Btw, a fact is anything that can be proven true or false. Until proven false, HOM's statment is a fact.

Can you guys PLEASE stop talking about religion. I know that it's easy to connect the "Evil Pokemon" game with the EXTREME religious nuts, but there just doesn't seem like there is a real need for it. And, again, some Pokemon have very dark roots, and are considered evil, but any Pokemon could, and probably does, have a dark side to it.

Do you think pokémon has a subtle evil to it?

It's overt, not subtle. Dark type is called Evil type in Japanese.

Yu-Gi-Oh does have religious undetones to it.

It has pretty heavy religious undertones to it, considering that in the animé they make extensive use of Osiris and Ra, just to name the Egyptian gods. Plus the fact that the story goes that Egyptian priests were the ones summoning monsters from the dark realm in order to engage in "games of darkness."

Another is Helpoemer add an l at the end of Hel and what do you get?

Or you don't add the second L and just get the Norse goddess Hel.

Wasn't it **** Poemer anyway originally, like some kind of poet from ****?

But is Pokemon at all trying to make religious references.

The second movie is all about calling the legendary birds gods, as well as summoning the god of the sea, Lugia, who actually appears (somewhat) in Shinto mythology.
