Pokegym Fantasy NFL Football 2009 -- Week 7

Dude, I said the settings on the first post. PG1 is always a deep league, which is why I've limited it to 10 teams. You'd also be VERY surprised as to the "real" limiting factor in the teams. It's not always the QB (though that's certainly one of them). The 7 bench is because there are 15 starting spots. It's not gonna be a short draft by any means, especially if people actually show up. I'm hoping we get more than 4 people this year...

I know you did. I read that.

But, this is the week where I'm actually giving attention to Fantasy stuff (i.e. listening to broadcasts, watching a few games, reading an article or two.. etc)

So, it never hit me how deep PG1 is. That's gonna be cool man

If you need someone to fill in a hole... I am there!! Put me in 2 bullados!!

This League and Password won't work and this League is giving me and error. Is there another I am missing??

There was a problem

  • This league is not registered in this game. (Error #272)

Use the links that I put on the first post. Those will take you directly to the pages for the Leagues. Pokegym1 has been filled, while 2 still have about 8 spots left (I think).

Still not allowing me to register... says:

There was a problem

  • You are not allowed to view this page because you are not in this league. (Error #152)

can u make one with a standard format??
1 QB, 2/3 WR 2 RB 1 TE and maybe a flex
4 for pass
25 pass yd=1pt
6 for run/rec
PPR is ok too.

I don't get what's with the whack formats every year.. the bigger the bench, and the more messed up the scoring system, the less skill there is in the draft. It really isn't much fun when ur pretty much forced to start guys who will have one-two token good games a year, and hope u hit on their token good games because of the deep bench.
I also don't get why yardage value is devalued.. yardage is where you can predict matchups and stuff more easily and TDs are usually unpredictable/more luck. For example, Look at thomas jones 07 and 08, 1 TD in 07 and 15 in 08, with not much diff in yardage totals. You knew what kind of yardage you'd get from him both years but the TDs are just completely random

And any conventional draft strats and stuff is thrown out the window because of the different score format.. you can make these formats for people who like them but it would be great if you could have one league with a format as close to "standard" as possible for people who actually want to play a less luck based game
there's a reason why there is a "standard"

PG2 is fairly standard. There are very specific reasons that the point values are modified...

Passing Yards: Unlike the "standard" Y! leagues, we're using fractional points. Every yard counts here, unlike in regular Y! leagues. It's also far too easy for a QB to toss out 300+ yards in this version of the NFL. I have yet to see a single 300 yard rushing or receiving performance. So, the value of passing yards is reduced.

Passing TDs: This is the Age of the RB. Why value Passing TDs at less than rushing TDs when the average number of TDs for starting WRs, RBs, and QBs is roughly the same (give or take 1-2)?

IDP is a legitimate style of League. I actually prefer IDP to not, as it's just one more thing to keep track of, and makes the games more interesting. I know that there were at least 5 games that I played last year that were decided by the IDPs on both teams.

Also, who says that the Y! Standard is the Absolute Standard? Remember that, until 2 years ago, the Y! Standard was EXACTLY like what you see right here. "Standard" in this case is a relative term, because each company has a different "standard". We're just going back in time a couple of years.

Hey, I have an ESPN fantasy football league up and going for the Pokegym peeps! I've set up a thread on here as well. I need three more people to get it going. The draft is tomorrow at 8:30 pm EST. I need to get it filled an our before then to draft. Here's the link

HERE

This will take you to the thread on Pokegym. The instructions on there. Thanks for those who join! :thumb:

After doing a couple of mock drafts... I've determined that...

Even my FANTASY team will be ROGUE ... lol
(not intentionally ... sadly...)

PG2 is filled? Since when? There are 14 spots in that league!

Ok, maybe I was just being dumb then. I'm used to seeing the open spots in a league when I look at the lost of teams, so I guess I wasn't thinking if there are still spots open.

I'll join back before the draft if it doesn't fill up, then.

Go right ahead! Join now, if you want! It's just one of Yahoo's little quirks, really. Also, it'd be a REALLY shallow league with 10 teams and only 1 QB per team...

Quick Question: Is the Draft today at 6 pm EST or another 6 pm? I'm not sure, since it hasn't been said and I don't want to be sitting in a draft room for 3+ hours.

Draft times are at the top of each page.

PG1 just finished.

PG2 is in another hour. 8:00 Chicago time.
